Different story lines are of interest to different people suzied. I am really glad there is something about the difficulties of the care system and the horrible guilt you feel while trying to do your best for your loved one.

At least it's an interesting story line, unlike Ruth and Heather, yawn.

Nfk - the DNA test proved Rob isn't the father of his ex wife's baby. I say "proved" there were a number of gransnet posters who suggested he'd somehow submitted DNA from someone other than himself

I'm afraid that the Rotten Rob thing will be dragged out for aaaages, as Ruth might say.

I missed the episodes when the DNA test came through. What happened? I gather Rob got off, but how?

Now he wants a baby - can you see him up all night with a colicky baby?!

I've been thinking for ages that Rob is about to snap and take out his temper on poor Henry. Also still wondering whether he fixed that DNA test, bribed Stefan maybe or had he already fled. Perhaps Stefan will finally turn up, one way or another. Did we ever find out who stole Christine's treasures?

Just listened on catch up. Hoping Helen will see the light and that Rob will get his come-uppance.

Joint account, pooling their money, dowry!!!!! I think he will soon run off with the money. What with duffing up the hunt sab. causing the Ambridge flood, and what ever it is he's done at Berrow farm, Oh dear.! He is a naughty boy. I'm beginning to warm to Charlie and what have the script writers done to Susan Carter. And how long before Hazel Woolly comes to the Grundies and says she is going to sell Keeper's cottage and also the village shop. Must go, I really have better things to do.

As an Isle of Wight native I find it hilarious that Ryde was the destination for their dream wedding.

Oh yes indeed! And what on earth was that reference to a "dowry" earlier! This from someone who was modern thinking enough to arrange having a baby on her own terms, i.e by donor.
OK, it's unlkely that she will convert to Islam with the hijab etc, but perhaps with the background in organic farming, could it be perhaps a leaning to the Amish?

My initial response to David and Ruth charging up to Prudhoe was the same Nelliemoser and Nfk but on reflection, I expect I'd have charged off to wherever my mum was in the same situation. My husband almost drove 250 miles at 10pm after we had the police get into his 92 year old mother's home because she wasn't answering the phone and neighbours reported her curtains hadn't been opened that day. She was safe, admitted to hospital, the paramedics and police could not have been kinder to her (or indeed to us on the end of a phone). I persuaded him to sleep and go when he woke, which he did at 5am. I can't see the sensible Ruth taking off but maybe Nfk is right and the stress of selling up/not selling up/moving mum in law in/Kenton being impossible etc is doing for Ruth. I don't get it though - Pip is about to move out, so there will now be a bed room won't there?

Would Jolene have covered for Kenton? When will she tell him to grow up?

Old people do go missing - with some sad outcomes. I think I would be pretty worried such a distance away and not knowing where she has gone - although probably home.

Ruth did go over the top a bit. Not at all like a practical farmers wife. Perhaps they're working up to the strain of looking after an Aged P - especially at a distance. I think she's heading for a breakdown.

Definitely OTT - what does she think she is going to do up there? - run round with a torch? Dramatic license I guess. But it leaves the way open for the dreaded Tony to creep in - or will Jill be the chaperone?
