OH !!! That sounds like cinemas in NZ Crimson. envy envy Nice cake, inde. films etc. I live in de cultural desert where we only have de multiplex and de popcorn eating. And de magnums which I can't resist and then end up getting chocolate all over me in the dark...
West is West was the best film I have seen this year.
"I've loved you so long" was the best film i saw in NZ a couple of years ago.

My DH was convinced they would do backtoback screenings of HP D. Hallows parts 1 and 2. So he waited and now he is one behind. Looks like we might be hiring the first part any day now... At least you know who and what you will get...

We go at least once a week. That's because we have a fantastic cinema in Derby called The Quad. Only two screens, but with a lovely restaurant where they have all sorts of events..scrabble, music, poetry, knitting, live music, and quiz nights. Courses in photography, graphics, filming etc. Live West End shows. Films for children, women with babies, special needs; group bookings where you can see a film with others if you have no one to go with [or no one wants to see that particular film] and then discuss it afterwards. Staff are friendly. Outdoor screenings at Calke Abbey, Kedlestone Hall and [possibly] Chatsworth coming up soon. No one uses phones while the film is on. No one eats pocorn [but you can take your coffee or wine up with you]. When it was called The Metro it was in an old college building, and even then people travelled for miles to go to it..but it's now in a state of the art building in the city centre. Oh, and they have art exhibitions on all the time as well. We can't believe how lucky we are to have it here. Bridesmaids is on next month, so I'll try to see it.

The last film I saw was the King's Speech. There are always films I would like to see but I usually miss them for one reason or another which is very frustrating; I find the sound in most cinemas far too loud so I always take ear plugs to dumb the sound down a bit!

According to gransnet we only do TV and radio... But some of us do, occasionally, remember the location of the cinema surely? We even get the occasional reduced-price ticket! Or take our grandchildren to see the latest kids movie. Or get the DVD if we have missed something.
What have you seen lately and what did you think? I saw Bridesmaids which was funny, and was all about women, for a change. 4 stars.**
I also walked out of Horrible Bosses which did not get any stars at all in the first 20 minutes.Horrible film more like.
It's kids blockbuster season, so come on, who's seen HP8 or whatever it is, or Transformers 3D?
