I'm sure you're right, crimson. I'll try staying awake until 2am to see if I can get beyone 'fint tak'. It's so slow I'll be fluent in Danish by the end of the series.
What is the most random school memory you have?
Don't fret it has not started yet!!! Saturday BBC4, a Danish/Swedish co production. According to the Radio Times it is going to be a real 'cracker'. A dead body found on a bridge between Denmark and Sweden, and a new female detective. Can't wait.

Mine does the stoppy starty thing sometimes; is it because a lot of people are using their broadband at the same time in your area? It makes you want to throw the computer out of the window, doesn't it!
I'm tearing my hair out. Have got to episode 4 of The Bridge but now iplayer is literally playing up! There is constant buffering every few second so it's impossible to get through an entire episode. I've googled the and it appproblemears I'm not the only one experiencing this.....so frustrating!
You'd think that Martin would have realised about Saga by now. But, you'd also question why Saga is supposedly so good at her job, given that a lot of police work must entail recognising body language, facial expressions etc. Then again, perhaps body language and facial expressions can also hide things, so someone who is totally clinical in their approach might pick up on things that others don't. I suppose she's loosely based on the Elisabeth Salander character in the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo books.
Whitewave, yes Saga is supposed to be on the Aspergers scale.....evidently because its a joint Swedish/Danish enterprise the two main characters represent how each other view the typical Swedish/Danish persona. Thus Saga is unemotional and highly rational and the male police officer from Denmark is more emotional and free thinking.
It was ever so slightly odd watching' The Bridge' and knowing that The Wonderful Man was in Denmark. Happily he has now arrived in Norway and as all Scandinavian crime obviously happens only in Denmark and Sweden I think he's pretty safe now.

I wonder if Saga is autisitic because she doesn't seem to be able to conect emotionally does she.
I love all these Scandinavian type of series, but I also adore Inspector Monte --do da (cant spell his name) I love the sun and can almost smell the air such a contrast to the Northern series.
I wondered if the bar pick up was the murderer too!
Saga is really weird isn't she (gives a whole new twist to Saga holidays though
) and poor old Martin - couldn't keep it in his trousers could he? Honestly, these Swedes/Danes........
it must be something to do on the long winter nights.
However I am beginning to worry about middle DD who will be in Malmo for 3 months as she has a play there in the autumn - Scandinavia seems to be full of psychopaths, makes London look safe by comparison.
I'm very disappointed in Martin [very funny comments in the Guardian blog about him and Charlotte; Skeltor's sister, or something like that]. She looked better with the wig on. And she must reek of cigarettes....
Was anyone else a bit disappointed with episodes 5 & 6?
Did we need the Martin/Charlotte, Saga/August and Saga/ bar pick up? Unless of course if the later is actually the murderer?
I have to admit that we rarely make it through the two episodes of "The Bridge", so we record both in case we are both dozing at the same time!
That's something of a burning question on the blog site too greenmossgiel
I was getting a bit mixed up last night and so you've helped me to pull it all together, Jacey! Why did the dead millionaire's wife have a wig, though....?
Yes gracesmum!!

You might like to check out this site ...basically the only characters that the BBC credit are ...
Saga (Swedish detective), Martin (Danish police), Charlotte (Danish wife of dead Swedish millionaire), Hans (Saga’s boss), Mette (Martin’s wife), Sebastian ( _who is he???_), August (Martin’s computer geek son), Daniel (Swedish journalist) and Stephan (Swedish social worker)
So I wonder if our murderer is in this list?
Could get messy?
gracesmum; I reckon so
...ooooer....
yes...all the plots twisted and turned tonight ..with the setting up of the next 'message' too... 7 days seems a long time to wait for the next parts
But strange! Need to check out The Guardian blog I think.
Was that a japanese ritual hara- kiri sword ............... ???
I was disappointed with the second series of The Killing, but this is good. Real edge of seat stuff.
Well DH and me are hooked to, we have just watched number 3, and have had to save up no 4 because we are shattered having DGS and DGD for 5 days (back home tomorrow). Some loose ends/explanations come through in No 3 and then new scenarios emerge. Fast pace and as someone else has mentioned it is good to watch something with a different 'hugh' 'hew?' oh well, you know what I mean. You know you are NOT watching CSI or Law and Order Criminal Intent etc. I think there are 10 episodes so it is going to get very complicated. Do you think the Social Worker did it? Too obvious? And why did that stupid mother and father reject their errant teenage daughter so? Fie, peril on the way. And why does not someone just explain to Martin that she is autistic/high functioning?
OK ...did that crimson ...found the site

I think I know understand which parts of the story took place in Sweden ...most generally!!
Only parts in Denmark being Rohde's home, his police station and the slaughter house; oh and the heart transplant sequences. I had not been clear about Stefan and Sonja Lindberg...but now realise that is all in Sweden too.
Also found it interesting reading some of the blogs ...that others couldn't tune in to when it was in Swedish or Danish; that others couldn't initially tell all the blondes apart either
And ...one of the bloggers solved a problem for me about Stefan ...who he reminded me of ...Peter Wyngarde's natural successor!
Jacey; I can't do linky things [technophobe] but if you google The Bridge Guardian blog you'll find it. I'm going to fill in the gaps I missed by reading it. there are 1.360 comments on the blog already! Looks like Sauturday nights are back to normal again!
If there is crimson would you post the link please?
Darn it; I fell asleep half way through the repeat of the second one [doing the nursery run as well as working this week]. Is there another Guardian blog with this one a la 'The Killing'?
We worked out at last the link with the social worker - but became hopelessly confused as we thought the strange woman in the leather jacket with nothing underneath was the same one the social worker took to the secret location! After a while, all those blondes tend to look very similar, but by the end (yes, our brains do get tired after an hour of those sub-titles) we sorted ourselves out. Still don't know where the heart patient comes in, though realise this was indeed the ambulance crossing the bridge in episode 1.
Have loved all these Scandinavian programmes, "Wallender", "Borgen", etc., and also enjoyed the French police series "Spiral". Have visited Sweden as we have friends there, it's good to see it on film.
Montalbano - mmmmmmm!
