Last Night at the Proms

I saw the end of the Proms from Hyde Park, it was brilliant! Forty thousand people waving flags and singing Rule Britannia at Proms in the Park. So uplifting!!

Last Night on the telly and GN on my lap on my laptop. And then to bed in a very relaxed state. And no alcohol. Well just a G and T.

I just wonder if there is any other place in the world where so many people can gather in so many different places and just enjoy beautiful music and the joy of singing together. Felt so much better after an evening of proms.

I thought it was one of the best Last Nights for a long time. Lovely to have some of the old sea songs back (been missing for a while) especially Spanish Lady. I wonder if the man at the front of the prommers who used to produce a line of hankies from his pocket for everyone to weep into is no longer with us? Joseph Calleja did a wonderful rendition of Rule Britannia GREAT

Yes, he has a beautiful voice, and a very big smile

I love the tenor, Joseph Calleja as well. Great music so far.

Oh the Bruch violin concerto, WOW, wasn't she fantastic playing that? That is one of my favourite pieces, it was stunning.

There have been some great proms, and some I wasn't too keen on!
