Last one tonight. I have really enjoyed this. The Great Train Robbery was such an audacious crime and I remember my parents being outraged especially when Ronnie Biggs rubbed salt into a sore wound by escaping from jail. Compared to some of today's crimes, the punishment was harsh but I think most people felt it was well deserved even though RB didn't play much of a part in the actual robbery. I have never felt any sympathy for him or his wife but it's been fascinating to find out a bit more about her.

I couldn't watch this but I believe Sheridan Smith has been brilliant as she always is.

It was just as I thought. I still have no sympathy whatsoever for RB even though the dramatisation showed his love for his family when it suited. It was interesting to learn about Charmian and her sadly misplaced loyalty. I was shocked to learn of the death of her lovely eldest son. She was an easily led girl who became a strong and devoted mother and made the right decision to stay in Australia.....Great drama.

It was fascinating, wasn't it. I did have some sympathy for Ronnie Biggs in the earlier episodes, but lost it again tonight. Basically, he was a chancer.
Classic weak man, strong woman scenario in some ways.
