I didn't like The Hurt Locker [although I saw it in two halves on the telly having lost the dvd I'd bought] so wasn't keen on seeing it[also, like Grannyknot, felt it wasn't my kind of film]but it was Mark Kermode's film of the week so we thought we'd give it a go. Best film I've seen since Pi; I sat there unable to move. I understand that someone that gave a lot of information about events is now in serious trouble? The bit where they stormed the house at the end had me on the edge of my seat; the nearest I'll ever get to understanding what it's like to be in that situation. The way the film drew you into it was incredible. Difficult to create suspense when everyone knows the outcome; felt a bit like 'The Killing' in some ways. Saw Skyfall the other night and it wasn't a patch on this one. Going to get to watch the Hurt Locker properly now, although think it probably works better in a cinema.
