Funny how so many songs are in English but when it comes to the voting..........hmm

At least the Russian entry sounds like a SONG

Tegan Sun 19-May-13 09:48:14

Well, that's the strange thing. Even though there is so much tactical voting amongst the countries the best song does win. It's as if there will always be the same amount of reciprocol votes each year but the best song snatches votes from everyone and that tips the balance. Some years the standard of the songs is quite high and the stage presentation is awesome. And, if you take it seriously as a betting medium you can win a lot tof money wink. I'm just going to listen to the Netherland's song again as it's one of the best songs I've heard this year. And I love the winning song, too; the winning singer is delighful.

Haven't watched this for years - surely no-one believes the best song wins shock

ninathenana Sun 19-May-13 08:35:22

Romania...very weird! Very Eurovision! confused

merlotgran Sat 18-May-13 22:42:05

If Greece win, how are they going to afford to host it next year?

Tegan Sat 18-May-13 22:29:15

I thought Bonnie Langford was doing our song. Got a bit confused when Bonnie Tyler came on. Don't know which one would have been worse [couldn't have been much worse]. Oh dear. Bet Greece [who seem to be getting a lot of votes] hope they don't win.

j08 Sat 18-May-13 22:28:22

She just said "the men don't have titties"! shock grin

j08 Sat 18-May-13 22:26:14

I need to go back and watch it all again! grin

The cake lady is being quite funny now.

merlotgran Sat 18-May-13 22:20:48

I missed the Netherlands but the clip I've just heard sounds good.

Tegan Sat 18-May-13 22:14:53

J; I LOVE that song; it's pure class and absolutely beautiful. Reminds me of the Iceland song that came second a few years back. Probably a bit early in the contest to win, though. Wish I'd backed Denmark when I was told to ages ago [think it'll win]. Also like Norway, Ireland [love a bit of bodrum drum, me] and that little Hungarian song.

j08 Sat 18-May-13 22:09:25

I might vote for Netherlands if I could reach the phone without getting up.

j08 Sat 18-May-13 22:03:38

Baubles' cake lady back again. #pinkfrock

merlotgran Sat 18-May-13 22:01:25

Ireland......very little sound for a lot of drums. Pity.

j08 Sat 18-May-13 21:54:08

Probably win then! grin

merlotgran Sat 18-May-13 21:50:43

Greece is my winner so far....Bonkers.

j08 Sat 18-May-13 21:42:01

This lot look like a football team

j08 Sat 18-May-13 21:40:54

Yes.Simple little song. Quite nice though. #hungary

merlotgran Sat 18-May-13 21:38:47

I thought the Iceland one was Rick Wakeman. Seemed to lose his way in the middle. Started off OK though.

j08 Sat 18-May-13 21:36:53

I'm gonna have to wind it back now to find postman pat.

The Iceland one was nice. Though I had wandered off to Twitter.

Ana Sat 18-May-13 21:27:42

She's 62 in June!

merlotgran Sat 18-May-13 21:25:06

I'm back. Had to shut the chooks up. Missed Bonnie Tyler. sad

The Hungarian one sounds a bit like Postman Pat.

j08 Sat 18-May-13 21:22:06

I forgot to listen to the song! Too busy wondering how old she is now. Knocking on a bit I reckon.

This one's weird. And he's podgy.

Ana Sat 18-May-13 21:18:25

How dreary was that...? confused Who wrote that awful song? hmm

j08 Sat 18-May-13 21:18:19

You've all changed channels haven't you.
