It certainly had shock value! I live alone and after the scene where the killer crept out from under her bed I was glad that I have a divan bed! Even an anorexic mouse couldn't get under ther.

I`ve had to avoid reading this thread till now, as we recorded it, and didn`t watch it till this afternoon. Admittedly it was more gory than usual, but I love a bit of gore! Will definiteley watch next week. And yes, Idris Elba IS a bit of alright!

Scared, yes - sickened, no! I'm sure the last series wasn't half as gruesome.

I like to be scared - in a "making me jump" way. (I think I can still take it)

I was waiting to see if anyone else had opinions on this programme. I really enjoyed the last series, but do not remember it being so gory, I will watch next weeks episode, but not sure I will continue if that sort of thing carries on. I like to be entertained, not sickened.

I haven't a clue where all that "investigating Luther" came from!

He is definitely squeaky clean!

Did the fact he was under investigation have anything to do with the previous series ? - I did not see that one and wondered if that was why I could not understand why he was being investigated. Do you think we shall find Luther is squeaky clean - or almost- and the chap investigating him is the bad apple with an axe to grind?

My knicker elastic almost gave way. An exceedingly scary moment, jings. When I lived alone, I always looked under the bed and wardrobe before retiring to bed. The bedroom scene made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. The stuff of nightmares.

I nearly shot out of my chair when the bloke came through the ceiling! And when the polythene wrapped "thing" suddenly jumped on him!

Still, made of strong stuff aren't we *soop .

Luther is a darling. The attic sequence scared the living daylights out of me.
And the scene where the girl was asleep in bed.

You can add hanging the suspect over the balcony! I couldn't follow it due to peering between fingers ....

Anyway not watching again (but I do like Idris Elba), the sub-plot was nonsense, what with picking up the blonde and all, and him under investigation by Internal Affairs, poor! Poor acting too from some of the supporting cast.

Even DH turned over as the guy was plugging in the mixer !
Turned back to see the blood splattered kitchen, that was bad enough

A bit gruesome for me but I do find him rather easy on the eye

I was going to start a thread about this but forgot. I thought it was horrible! It was like a horror film - that man hanging through the ceiling! And the fingers in the blender!

I liked Luther in the last series, but that car accident scene with him and the blonde (no other traffic at all in the area...) was so unconvincing.

Won't be watching it again.

So scary it made 'The Fall' look like Midsomer Murders.

Liked it but also found it hard to follow.
