The Mill

How will they do all that in one day? I'm annoyed with myself as I didn't really concentrate on what was happening last night [even though I watched it on +1 so I could see it twice; wonder if there's a Guardian blog about it?]

I stayed glued to the screen from beginning to end,can't wait until next week and the adventure's of those two girls if they get away to Liverpool.

I'm hooked

I was pleased when my 14yr old grandaughter said she was enjoying it. No special effects, no virtual cotton looms, no Disneyfied scenes just good historical drama which will fire her imagination.

It's bucked up a bit now, and whilst the reality of those times is depressing, there are some moments of humour and that spark of gumption which shows some of the mill girls rising above their awful circumstances. There's a touch of Catherine Cookson about it. Very interesting historically, for those of us who learned about the philanthropy of the mill owner and the abuse of his good intentions. Looks like it will encompass slave-owning in forthcomng episodes. Fascinating.

I was looking forward to watching the first episode but found it too dark and depressing. I couldn't watch the whole trapped hand scene. I know that's what life was like then but no fun to watch.
Won't be watching again.

The young boy has recovered very quickly from losing his hand .

Watched it last week and I enjoyed it, have been out this evening so looking forward to catching up on this weeks episode.

It is an interesting place to visit I've been twice and I can't wait to go again.

What a sad end. I hoped she would be found by her sister.
