It was ok. I did enjoy it [certainly more than Le Weekend] but not as much as Rush and feel that it's time I saw a film and came out of the cinema thinking that it had the 'wow' factor [although we both gave Rush a 10/10 it was still a film that you forget about soon after you've seen it]. I'm ready for a Life of Pi or Zero Dark Thirty.

Saw it last night and enjoyed it, thought Cate Blanchet and Sally Hawkins were both excellent. My husband isn't a great fan of Woody Allen's films but liked this one. We both found the scene with the amorous dentist very funny.

I've loved Woody Allens recent films and am planning to watch all of his films now I have the time [as a way of working out the meaning of life]. Looking forward to this one.

Yes, despite all the luggage, she did have a somewhat limited wardrobe.
It just made me feel uncomfortable.

Yes. But I have to say that although all the critics raved about it, I found the characters stock stereotypes - the Park Lane Princess, the less favoured sister with a heart of gold, the working class boyfriend with a few anger 'issues' who came good in the end, the amorous dentist and so on.

Cate Blanchet's dropped handbag and continual pill swallowing and obvious vodka swilling didn't ring true and neither did the continually worn Chanel jacket motif. I didn't feel that there was any character development from any of them.

It was beautifully shot though, and I like the dresses.

I went to see this Woody Allen film yesterday, Cate Blanchett is extremely good, in fact it's a very good film.
Having said that, I found it made me feel quite tense and anxious as I've had my fair share of marital stress.
My friend, who has had a very comfortable life on her own terms, thought it was 'very interesting'.
Anyone else seen it yet?
