That would be a good idea Granny23 I'd love to chat to her.

I love, love, love Anita Manning. I sit down with my Brunch in front of the TV, tune in to Bargain Hunt watch it if she is on and if not, watch something else. One of the few things left on my bucket list is to have Anita sell something for me at her auction house. I wouldn't want to BUY anything there as she always manages to get the highest prices! Could we have her for a Gransnet chat, PLEASE? Then we could all chat to her smile.

I think Anita is great. I like her clothes and jewellery, and, like me,she really likes Art Nouveau anfd Arts and Crafts. She seems to have a good sense of humour and shows that she is on are always fun.

I wouldn't say no to a meal with James Martin grin at least we wouldn't go short of butter!!!

Professor Brian Cox ! Need I say more. wink

Just watched Anita on the Antiques Roadshow; no, it's not a wig, I was wrong, as her hair was blowing about a bit so you could tell.I spelled Gloria Hunniford's name wrong before[ never seen it written down before now!] Nobody else has said who they would like to meet???

She's a wonderful auctioneer, goldengirl, who gets better prices than any other auctioneer for the contestants on Bargain Hunt. If I had something to auction, I'd be tempted to make the trip to Glasgow.

goldengirl Wed 12-Mar-14 16:43:05

I too really like Anita Manning. She often wears the same clothes so perhaps they are expensive but carefully chosen. I like her jewellery too which is often 'reworn' I like her style and colour combinations - and her hats (on the antiques touring programme) Her enthusiasm is infectious

I do think that losing too much weight as we get older is very ageing. I think that we tend to look scrawny and too thin in the face. Anita is a nicely rounded person and looks good like that. Personality is also an important factor.

Charleygirl Wed 12-Mar-14 09:51:44

I saw Gloria Hunniforsd on TV last week and she admitted to deliberately losing 2 stones in weight. She is now tiny, and I am not sure if losing so much weight has helped her appearance.

Yes, I do mean the one in Oxford nan although I want more than a 'light' lunch if it's to be free!

NanKate Wed 12-Mar-14 09:44:11

Isn't that great Agus to know she is as nice as she looks.

I agree Roses a meal and a nice large glass of merlot and lots of laughter would be the order of the day.

I once went for a 'light' lunch at the Randolph, if you mean the one in Oxford, and it was very good.

I have met Anita Manning a couple of times at her Auction House in Glasgow. She is very down to earth, loves a blether, always well groomed and doesn't wear a wig grin. She is passionate about antiques and always willing to advise or discuss with anyone what they are buying.

rosesarered Wed 12-Mar-14 09:12:55

The hair [wig] is totally wrong colour it's true. She does always dress smartly, but surely we would too if on tv?I think what I do admire her for is her confidence and sense of fun.If I could choose someone to have lunch with it would be Gloria Honeyford [assuming you mean a woman?] because I think she's a very interesting person, down to earth, intelligent and a good sense of humour. Her life has had both happiness and tragedy and I feel that she would have plenty to say.She dresses well, although I don't like her hair [as on tv] but that's the problem for well known people, once they get a 'look' they feel they have to keep it.If I had to have lunch with a man, then I would pick Ken Bruce [radio 2] he sounds like Terry Wogan and has all the same things going for him as Gloria H.In a male way, and without the teased blond hair.I know you said 'meet' and not lunch, but with food and a glass or two of wine, people are always more fun.Plus I am always up for a free lunch [well, I'm hoping they will pay as this lunch will be at The Randolph.]smile

We like watching her. She's a very good auctioneer.

J52 Wed 12-Mar-14 08:54:30

She's a fab woman. I'd a,so love to meet her, she sounds so much fun! So stylish, love the earrings and necklaces.
I also like the things she chooses in the programme. X

Charleygirl Wed 12-Mar-14 08:48:24

I personally feel that her hair is too dark for her age. When colouring she should go a few shades lighter. She is always immaculately dressed but as somebody said, this comes at cost.

NanKate Wed 12-Mar-14 08:43:13

You choose Rosesarered - anyone at all that we will all know.

I don't think Anita has a wig because I could see her hair looked a different colour at the parting. Anyway I will look very closely next time in case you are right.

rosesarered Wed 12-Mar-14 08:38:58

I always assumed that she wore a wig [in fact I'm sure it is as it never moves and looks a very un-natural colour.]
Who would I like to meet? Hmmmn,is this from tv or anyone at all?

ninathenana Wed 12-Mar-14 08:37:16

I agree she always looks good, but I find her really annoying. Her voice and her school girl giggles grate.

Can't think of anyone I'd particularly like to meet.

Nelliemoser Wed 12-Mar-14 08:17:23

I love her style in clothes and accessories, she always looks good, but I agree, to achieve that level of looking smart and comfortable must cost.

NanKate Wed 12-Mar-14 07:16:19

I would love to meet up with Anita Manning from the antiques show. I feel she would be great fun to have a meal and a few bevies with.

Also I wish my hair could look like hers, she never seems to have a bad hair day. Also I think her clothes would suit me, but I think they could be a bit pricey.

Who would you like to meet ?
