Sacking of Manchester Utd Moyes

I had been told when that the announcement was delayed until the American Stock Exchange had closed .I did not know whether it was true but thought it extremely cruel to DM to keep him in the dark.

The males in my family either play or have played, rugby, thank goodness.
Except my sil. he definitely doesn't count anymore!

There's an allegation of insider dealing from the American Stock Exchange, because people were gossiping about Moyes getting the sack for a day or so before it was officially announced and United's shares went up. Wonder if it has foundation?

I'm not a football fan or know much about it, but the way this matter has been handled is atrocious.

I'm not just indifferent but annoyed that this was the lead item on last night's early evening news. With everything going on in the world how on earth is this justified?

When it comes to sport and me, DBH is in despair - he came home last night to find me asking what Chris Moyles had done wrong.

It seems significant that, since David Moyes left Everton, his old club has done rather better than his new one.

My indifference matches yours, Soutra. Most of the males in my extended family are United fans. My son decided to stay at home when he went to uni, so he could keep his part-time job with United! Great that they get some fresh air once a week, but football leaves me cold.

PS if only politicians could be judged by the same criteria and despatched with equal immediacy... (I've got a little list and they'd none of them be missed).

I am a MUFC fan, it was instilled by my mother, much against our dad's wishes, as we grew up. When the reds were playing, she even made red and white teas to eat as we watched the game. Rumours have been rife in this area, where someone always knows someone who either plays for the team, or works at the ground and hears the gossip. Not a Man Utd fan but this is a knee jerk reaction and very wrong. This type of behaviour is not expected from the world's biggest football club!

My son and grandson are Man Utd fans. A miserable day!
