Strictly Come Dancing 2015

I agree with the comments about some actors sometimes having a head start because they may have done dance as part of their training and anyway they can 'act' so get into the character of dances. However, I don't know what they can do to overcome this. But then there is the audience participation and we don't always vote for the 'best' dancers so that 'ain't ' fair either. As it is there are some really fab dancers this year so it is going to be a real battle for the glitter ball.

Hi 2old4hotpants. Are you new here? If you are, welcome and if you aren't, my apologies for not recognising you! I agree that it seems unfair that the actors who appear on Stricly may have the advantage of stage school training that may well include dancing. But where would they find 'celebs' if they didin't find them in TV series, sitcoms and soaps? As it is I don't recognise more than a few of them and they're mostly the non-actors like Jeremy, Ainslie and Anita. I have great hopes for Anita! I was looking through a 'celebrity' magazine in the dentist's waiting room and I didn't recognised any of the featured persons!

Thanks for the welcome Wilma - lovely to meet you too. I'm not actually a gran but I know there are others here who aren't so I hoped it was okay to post. I only have one child - my DD who's 26 but has learning difficulties so I'm not sure if she'll ever make me a gran but I'm still hopeful.

You mentioned Ricky Whittle - I'm a huge fan of the TV series he currently appears in which is called 'The 100'. Not many people in this country seem to be aware of it. Anyone seen it?

It seems unfair that actors and actresses who have probably had years of dancing in their syllabus at stage school are competing against those with no dancing experience at all.

I enjoy Strictly, but never vote. But if I did I would veto all those competitors who do the thumb and little finger phone sign, or the finger walk along where the number appears, to the camera.

And wouldn’t Strictly be better without the childish drivel between each dance? A shorter programme yes, but not an insult to the intelligence.

The first year Natalie was on the show she'd just won the Australian version of the show and was partnered with the very able Ricky Whittle. She got right up my nose with her attitude of can't wait to get 10s, I couldn't stand her. That same year I went to see the superb Strictly Pros tour (only happened one year ) and completely changed my mind about her. She was so nice and so different and she's just like that on It Takes Two on weekdays.

I think don't think she understood that us Brits don't like bug heads, plus the dancing world is extremely competitive and I think the first impression was the wrong impression. On the other board I post on she's so popular she's known as The Goddess and she's my secret girl crush!

My first post on this board! Just wanted to reply to dollyjo to say that I was also not so keen on Natalie when she first appeared on Strictly but my daughter and I met her after we saw a show she was in last year and she was quite honestly one of the nicest people I've ever met. She stopped to speak to everyone, made sure all the photos people took were ok and was just generally lovely and friendly. Ever since then I've supported her on Strictly and I'm really sad that she and Ainsley were voted off this week.

WillmaKnickersfit says Natalie is her favourite. My husband and I were hoping she would go this week. It's a pity Ainslee had to go with her.
We find Natalie quite arrogant and when dancers come upstairs to speak to Claudia, guess who is always centre stage behind them Natalie, of course.

I want the young lad from 'the Wanted' to win. He tries so hard.

I like Jeremy and have voted for him and others every week

The first time the theme was Halloween, it was a brilliant show, but like so much on the show the producers now go over the top. Will still be watching though.

Don't know what's going on with Bruno this year, but he's really nasty every week. He starts off as if he's going to say something nice and then it turns out to be nasty. He swears every year at some point on Strictly or Dancing with the Stars in the USA. I am sure the falling off the chair thing is an act he started after one of the American judges Carrie Ann Inaba fell off her chair - that was very funny.

Another good show, Ainsley was unlucky to go as he is such a great personality compared with the stick insect (Jeremy Vine).. When Tes apologised for Bruno's bad language, didn't realise that what he said qualified as bad language, it's just a statement. Not looking forward to this Saturday.

I can't understand how Jeremy vine has survived so long. Can't stand him - he is very arrogant underneath that seemingly modest pose he assumes. Can't people see through him??

Katie should be alright Charleygirl as they have now done with the "fun" dances (if they can avoid the samba which is highly likely). They have the paso this week which is not really a latin dance and Anton will be come up with a good ballroom version.

They still have the quickstep, waltz, foxtrot and Argentine tango - all of which will be gorgeous as Katie is such a ballroom girl! I have high hopes of their reaching the final.

I really dislike Halloween week so will not be watching next week.

I agree, Jamelia, Jeremy and Carole are in line for the chop, and after Saturday's performance, Katie is not too far behind.

Aw I will miss Ainsley. Jamelia won't last much longer and as much as I like her, I'd rather have Ainsley for a few more weeks than her. Natalie is my favourite pro too.

Well bye bye Ainsley and your wobbly legs when they kept telling you it had to be sharp and well defined. as for Katie she is another who is doing her own thing regardless of judges advice. I think she is just throwing herself about and leaning on her looks to get her through instead refining her technique.

I thought AH was the right choice last night, flat footed and slightly creepy, IMO!!
What surprises me is the Marmite reaction to Katie Dereham, wasn't she tipped as a potential winner at one time?

I knew Ainsley would go last night. Shoukd have been Jeremy or Carol but obviously their groupies are keeping them in the competition game.

Having heard Peter André murdering some great songs on Wogan this morning just because he reckons he can s(w)ing, I think he should stick to dancing.

Not that I enjoy watching him because I don't.
