Jeremy Vine is the first celebrity to be announced - will he be the first one off?

Jane10 Sun 18-Oct-15 15:55:27

Craig's comments are the most useful. If he's complimentary that really counts!

Charleygirl Sun 18-Oct-15 10:07:41

I agree that it is so good to see Anton with a partner who can dance. I may not like her but at least Anton does not have to resort to dragging her across the floor.

I am 100% certain that Craig's putdowns are just under the surface! He is truthful if a bit cruel at times.

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 18-Oct-15 10:06:27

There's been quite a bit of discussion over this with some saying it was not Jamelia who was out of sync, but Tristan. Might watch it again later.

Teetime Sun 18-Oct-15 10:04:17

nottooold I agree with your previous comments especially regarding the ever over-grinning Katie Dereham. Jeremy please go! I'd stroe jay if he came near me! grin

NotTooOld Sun 18-Oct-15 09:59:16

Did anyone else notice Jamelia was out of time right at the beginning of her dance? It was not mentioned by the judges but I'm pretty sure her footwork was not in time with her partner's.

Deedaa Sat 17-Oct-15 23:52:02

I do agree about the music! They seem to be dancing against it rather than with it sometimes. I saw Peter Andre on Breakfast during the week and he was saying what a big fan base Carol has. I noticed Jay's mistakes, sorry for him but pleased that the judges confirmed I was right.

Lovely to see Anton do well for once but Nice Craig worries me. I hope he hasn't given up the put downs for ever.

WilmaKnickersfit Sat 17-Oct-15 23:05:52

I thought Jamelia was fantastic tonight. The dance suited her, but it was well done and her movement - especially her legs - was much more controlled. A joy to watch.

I did feel a bit for Jay because he danced the routine with out mistakes earlier today, but that's how it goes.

This is going to sound awful, but I couldn't help noticing Carol's 'bingo wings' and once I saw them, I kept looking for them. blush First time I have ever seen that on the show and blame Wardrobe for not thinking about this because she's a really attractive woman. It was her best dance so far, although I think she was lucky to get decent music and not something awful like Kirsty.

Why, oh why, do they have really inappropriate music for the Spanish dances, such as the Pasa Doble? The dance would look so much better done to the correct music type.
I`m so pleased that Anton is top of the leader board, no matter who his partner is, it`s about time he got the chance to show what he can do. Jay was a bit of a baby, he obviously expects to get top marks every time now.
Carol was much improved tonight, as was Jamelia. I think Jeremy may go tomorrow. I know that Ainsley is doing quite well, but he really does get on my nerves!

WilmaKnickersfit Sat 17-Oct-15 22:30:52

Tonight's show was a bit of a disappointment. I really enjoyed the first three weeks and then the producers start playing games again with poor music choices. sad I don't really have a problem with the positions on the final leader board, but I can understand why fans of the celebs or couples get annoyed with the judges.

Jay made at least two mistakes and slipped from being off balance that I saw and I am not a dancer, so I wasn't surprised at the judges' scores. And just to clarify, he trained full-time for 3 years, but attended several weekly classes at a local dance school for at least 3 years.

I loved watching Katie and Anton dancing the Viennese Waltz tonight because it brought back memories of what a VW used to (and should) look like on the show. It wasn't perfect, but it was packed with content that they made look easy. Made my night to see them at the top of the leader board. It's so long since that happened to Anton and I am sure lots of viewers have never seen it before.

I think Kirsty is in trouble this week. Terrible music for a celeb lacking in confidence. But we'll see. smile

merlotgran Sat 17-Oct-15 22:25:18

I think it will be Jeremy Vine. Carol Kirkwood may have done enough to last another week.

Charleygirl Sat 17-Oct-15 22:21:31

I cannot make up my mind who should be shown the door tomorrow. I suppose in theory that it should be Jeremy Vine but he has a fan base.

Ana Sat 17-Oct-15 22:16:47

And one whole sleeve was missing! She must have been in a fight just before the programme aired! shock

NotTooOld Sat 17-Oct-15 21:50:14

Anton did well tonight. Pity I can't stand his partner.

Baby Jay screwed up and all the women stroked him.

Craig has changed into everyone's favourite uncle.

Wasn't Tess whatsername's dress torn at the waist, or at least there was some lace missing?

aquagran Sat 17-Oct-15 21:33:00

The judges are screwing (?) the marking now. Giving lower marks to the obviously good dancers and higher marks to the not so good. This is to make it appear a closer competition than it really is! It is transparent. There are four or five contenders. The rest are "also rans" !

Anniebach Mon 12-Oct-15 22:54:55

Same for me rosesarered , attending a dance academy for six years and entering a competition as an amateur is dishonest

rosesarered Mon 12-Oct-15 22:12:40

I Have lost all interest now in the show, so much pro dancing experience not openly declared.

merlotgran Mon 12-Oct-15 21:55:31

It's a two tiered competition really. I'm glad people vote for their favourite duffers in the early rounds otherwise they might just as well not be there. The good/trained dancers can slog it out in the final rounds.

I like to see the no-hopers improving and having fun.

NotTooOld Mon 12-Oct-15 21:48:50

Deedaa - I expect you are right about that. It wouldn't do to have a whole show made up of Ann Widecombes (that looks wrong?) and Jeremy Vines.

kittylester Mon 12-Oct-15 07:20:27

No matter how many years I attended a dance academy, I could never be taught to dance! grin

NanKate Mon 12-Oct-15 06:51:47

Join the club Loopylou I too cba to watched the main show, but did watch the results show. I switched off quickly before the end as I can't bear to watch all the hugging and tears which seem so false to me.

I am becoming a cynical old moaner. hmm

Deedaa Sun 11-Oct-15 23:00:03

If you cut out anybody who might have had dance training at drama school you're going to lose an awful lot of celebrities and just be left with sportsmen and retired politicians.

Ana Sun 11-Oct-15 20:25:04

And Peter André must have had a lot of dance/movement coaching during his popstar days!

Gagagran Sun 11-Oct-15 20:18:12

Kellie is another with a dance background. In fact she was teaching at the Sylvia Young Theatre School until she got the Eastender's part so no wonder she looks so professional - she is! I just wish she would stop screeching!

loopylou Sun 11-Oct-15 19:48:10

It's the first time I've not seen any of it, not sure why but sitting watching the vote off tonight I really wonder how much longer it will go on. I don't even know half the contestants....perhaps I'm getting too old!
The judges are irritating me big time hmm!
