Just got back from Bolsover Castle after seeing the Lucy Worsley programme on BBC4 last week. Well worth a viewing [the programme that is] even if you have no interest in horses. By the way, her riding instructor in it is Ben who is the stunt rider for Poldark and the one going out with'Demelza'[found that out today by chatting to the English Heritage lady]. Saw a chivalric display at the castle and got to stroke two of the horses; alas, Ben [sigh]wasn't there [sob] but we had a great day out all the same..Bolsover Castle is a fascinating place and we tagged on to a guided tour which made it even better.
