It was lovely to see George Alagiah well enough to be back reading the news tonight. We have always enjoyed watching him, one of the better newsreaders. We wish him well.

Has he been poorly?

He had bowel cancer. It is lovely to see him looking so well.

He has been off the screen for about 18 months receiving treatment for bowel cancer.

Love George Alagiah! He's a supreme professional and it's really good to have him back - and looking so well too.

He said good to be back, it was an unusual personal touch. Hope he stays well. We get the bowel cancer test through the post, does that happen all over the country, I hope so.

Oh yes the bowel cancer test. Its not exactly the highlight of the year but we do faithfully go through the motions 'fill in the boxes' (you'll know what I mean!)

Good to see him well and back on TV. We once saw him in Launceston when he had a home nearby.
