On BBC 2 tonight series 3 of Line of Duty returns. It has 5 stars in my newspaper.

I have just watched the whole of series 2 on BBC IPlayer, even though I had seen it before it really was gripping and to be honest I had forgotten most of the twists and turns.

Enjoy smile

It was brilliant. It was hard to remember Adrian Dunbar was acting, he was superb this series. Craig Parkinson too as Dot. Hope they win an award or 2.

Ana I think at the appeal trial Lindsey was still found guilty of one of the two charges she was in prison for (she'd served enough time for the other one to be released immediately).

I'm not sure if Gill was guilty of anything except incompetence. Dot's death means we'll never know who he worked for now.

Two things bothered me. How come Fairbanks was suddenly fit to stand trial and, surely Steve blotted his copy book too much to be allowed to stay with AC 12?

Hope there's another series.

Loved it.

Hells Bells, what a gripping finale, real edge of seat stuff. The bad guys got their comeuppance.

Maybe we will find out more about that Gill woman in the next series - after all we will need a bit of a crossover! Having armed officers etc with the corrupt clique it makes you wonder who else will shake out.

Excellent. Want more of this kind of programme.

Eloethan. Love that song!!

Ana Thu 28-Apr-16 22:48:38

I was really worried it was all going to end in an anti-climax with Dot getting away - goodness he and Kate were super-fit doing all that running, I was exhausted just watching them!

Thought it was excellent. I think that the action-packed ending was a very good contrast to the earlier scenes. Wonderful acting by all.

Agree the last ten minutes was OTT but it was a gripping finale.

Ana Thu 28-Apr-16 22:41:08

Yes, I felt so sad about Lindsay's funeral too - why were no members of the Police Force in attendance for goodness sake? She'd been vindicated and had played a material part in securing Cottam's eventual come-uppance.

I'm still not sure who he was working for. Well, I say not sure, but actually I've no idea...

One thing they didn't update us with was what happened to Gill that nasty piece of work and how/why she was involved.. or maybe I just missed it.
Cracking episode I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Nelliemoser Thu 28-Apr-16 22:39:18

I really enjoyed that! I had to watch it on my laptop as the TV had detuned from BBC. I am so glad I could do that.

Charleygirl Thu 28-Apr-16 22:37:17

Very good tonight but I felt spoiled by the OTT of the last 10 minutes or so. I am looking forward to the next series.

Eloethan Thu 28-Apr-16 22:36:55

Wow! As the pop song goes, I wasn't expecting that.

What an absolutely brilliant episode, especially the very unexpected last ten minutes - it was so gripping. I hope when Line of Duty returns that they can match this brilliant series - a pretty tall order.

What an awesome ending to a brilliant series!!!!

So glad justice was dealt, but so sad that Lindsay was buried with no one in attendance for her.

Cant wait for the next story.

Just caught up with it on iPlayer. What a great episode. Poor Lindsay sad

Looking forward to next week.

Ana Sat 23-Apr-16 19:18:01

Yes, I was crossing my legs by the end of this week's episode - will have to restrict my liquids in the run-up! grin

Maggiemaybe Sat 23-Apr-16 19:15:31

It's going to be a 90 minute feature-length finale. I didn't even want to leave it to get a glass of wine nip to the loo this week, so I'm going to make sure I'm better prepared next Thursday.

Yep, it'd be nothing short of a miracle if Lyndsay isn't dead.
There must be CCTV footage of the car leaving the bookies with one set of number plates and hopefully even entering the area where Lyndsay was killed in the same model car, with different number plates.
It's so good and I do hope Steve isn't convicted…..

Maggiemaybe Sat 23-Apr-16 17:26:47

grin

Ana Sat 23-Apr-16 17:23:27

She looked pretty dead to me, unfortunately...

Maggiemaybe Sat 23-Apr-16 17:18:20

Me too, Nankate. I wanted her to survive the shot too, but really it was at such close range that she couldn't have done, could she? hmm sad Surely CCTV somewhere along the line will show Dot getting into/driving the car though.

NanKate Sat 23-Apr-16 13:08:46

I suppose there is no doubt that Lindsay is dead ?? I wanted to see her get the apologies she deserved.

Thought she was brilliant in the scene where she filmed and kicked out the revolting chap who was offering her a £20 for a B J blush

kittylester Sat 23-Apr-16 12:48:18

I'm really loving it but do hope it all falls into place next week confused

Welshwife Sat 23-Apr-16 12:29:26

Yes about the number plates - but maybe Steve had his own car as well as the one he used for work? I think the places were fairly close together.

Ana Sat 23-Apr-16 11:33:16

Dot, I mean.
