Eirel, good plot device of yours, so have one of the pickers live in the same village as Stefan so that when asked, he will tell everyone that Stefan never returned him from Borsetshire. Where is his body we all wonder. I remain convinced that Rob put the bit of dead dog over the feed at Berrow Farm, knowing it would cause health problems.

Hopefully one of the strawberry pickers will have known Stefan whom I suspect never left Borsetshire at all.

My opinion ... memories would come together slowly; they do not know what we know and they are busy with their own lives but I agree Ian is beginning to see a few clues. He also mentioned how much Helen had changed. They would remember more and put more pieces together if someone explained coercive compulsive behaviour to them. Surely someone could hear/watch a programme about the new law. I suppose the BFAs can't say too much as they won't want to give away the defence but there may come a point when it is better to explain to get some witnesses.

merlot I am sure Shula had a perfectly reasonable reason for not being there. Let's face it the real reason was that the SWs needed her to be absent so Rob could step in - just a little plot twist

Welcome back Iam I hope you had a lovely time. I agree with the view of Rob as a narcissistic psychopathic which would inevitably lead to him being a bully if needs must from the Rob perspective. Still we are told that many of those getting to the top of businesses are psychopaths so there must be quite a few about

There is intrigue in the village, as Jennifer is contacted by an employee at Berrow Farm, who swears he saw Rob Titchener on the night of the flood deliberately blocking up a culvert to make sure the water didn’t go near the mega-dairy. Jen and David meet the mega-dairy Deep Throat (whose name is Stefan) and listen to his story. He is adamant that it was Rob and has only decided to come forward “because somebody could have died.“ David decides to go and see Charlie, in his capacity as Flood Warden and tells him what Stefan had said (not mentioning either Stefan or Rob’s names). Charlie immediately realises that the unnamed employee must be talking about a senior member of staff, which narrows it down to Raf, Becky and Rob.

Later, Charlie calls Rob in for a chat and tells him what has happened. Rob tries to dismiss the incident (“conspiracy theories abound”) and suggests it’s surely a waste of time. Charlie, however, is of a different mind, telling Rob: “That was the culvert that I nearly drowned in”, which is a bit of a conversation stopper. Charlie says he will conduct an investigation and there’s no need for Rob to get involved and hasn’t he got things to do? Rob is distinctly unhappy and goes home, where Helen asks what’s up? He tells her of the culvert blocking and that he thinks he is in the frame for it. Helen is outraged, saying that to block the culvert was really dangerous and “What kind of person would take such a stupid risk?” Rob must be thinking it’s just one damn thing after another - just as he gets in the clear about Jess’s baby, he’s now practically accused of trying to murder (or at least accidentally kill) his boss - take care; these things don’t look good on the CV, Rob.

For those of us whose memories are not at their best who missed episodes .

Just heard that the actor who played Did Perks has died. Do you remember the shower scene with Jolene?!!!

At last Ian is onside, recounting his thumping Rob. Some small glimmers of hope.

My excuse (not being a scriptwriter, sadly) is that I missed that episode. If Jennifer and David know this, surely they ought to be shouting it from the hill tops. They ought to have shouted it from the time it happened of course but surely now, with Helen in the clink they'd be reflecting on Rob's behaviour. Helen may have been extremely irritating but so far as I know, she hasn't previously shown violent tendencies. In most families, totally out of character acts, like stabbing your husband, would create all kinds of discussions over the aga.

Iam. If I remember rightly, Jennifer and David were told by Stefan that he'd seen Rob deliberately blocking the culvert to divert the floodwater away from Berrow Farm and towards Ambridge. Stefan was then 'let go' by Rob before Charlie could interview him.

All of this seems to have been forgotten by the scriptwriters.

I'm just back from 2 weeks away (foreign parts). I'm catching up via discussions like this one. Merlotgran, I'd missed that, Jennifer being aware(or was she the eye witness) account of Rob blocking the culvert so making him indirectly responsible for Freda's death.
Gracesgran - the actor's description of Rob as a narcissistic, psychopathic bully accords exactly with my own assessment, so he must be right.
I heard the last 5 mins this evening, when Ian asked Adam if he'd kept in touch with Pavel. What did happen to Stefan? I continue to wonder if his body was buried in the culvert, or nearby, by Rob. Surely at least some of Rob's devious/illegal/simply dreadful/abusive/rapist behaviour must become known before too long.

Just what poor Tony needs.....A loving and supportive shallow, disloyal sister who has completely forgotten the eye witness account of Rob blocking the culvert making him indirectly responsible for Freda's death.

Most of them are fully paid up members of AA (Ambridge Amnesia)

Let's see if she changes her attitude when Rob has a go at Peggy tomorrow.

She is, after all, the only Ambridge resident who has witnessed Rob being a violent bully. (Unless I've forgotten another incident)

Typical of Rob's character merlot. The only "rights" he understands are Rob's Rights. Timothy Watson, the actor playing Rob described him as abusive, narcissistic, psychopath and bully and we certainly saw the narcissism with Rob trying to claim the glory when Johnny won.

Thinking about Jennifer and David merlot I wonder if, when they hear what Helen's defence is going to be, their memories will be stirred. Also, for Jennifer, she may think more about it if Peggy is very shocked and relays how awful Rob is Of course, it is reasonable for him to be upset but people need to start putting together that his behaviour is beyond reasonable. I wonder too if we will get some idea of this defence when the family court bit comes up again. Once again my memory is not serving me well as I can't remember when that is going to be.

Surely Rob had no right to warn Tom that the Bridge Farm lot could not have any contact with Henry? It was a public event and it's not likely they'd have scooped him up and run off with him.

Just another little teeth gnashing opportunity provided by the scriptwriter.

What a pity Jennifer and David have both lost their memories regarding Rob's flood involvement.

Hmmm methinks the more Rob looses his cool the better. Good moral compass that young Johnny. Good to hear the other village thinking from Kenton too. That is what I can imagine being said - I wonder what the gossip will be when they hear Helen's defence

I did yell, 'Nooooooo, you silly old bat' at Peggy last night but it looks like her interfering might have some rewarding results.

No you can't read all that lot . The police "invited" Pat to go to he police station and give a statement. Pat felt she could put "the other side" so went without a lawyer. She had obviously not watched enough TV! Because the police took the statement Anna informed Pat that she was now a prosecution witness and could have no direct contact with either Anna or Helen.

We had quite a discussion about whether Pat showed poor judgement and I think most thought yes but some thought under the circumstances bad decisions might well be made.

There is no "ownership" of a witness so if necessary Anna can interview Pat although I believe she would have to inform the police of the arrangements to do so.

Others may well fill in bits I have forgotten

I've only just started listening to the Archers again. Can anyone tell me why Helens mother can't visit her? ( sorry but 22 pages is rather a lot to catch up,on)
