I forgot to go and look at the ad. I've googled but it's not on you tube. Has anyone else seen it and knows that it's advertising. An old lady with a post-it note on her forehead. I think it's something fast food related. But I may have invented that.
It is the younger woman I find amusing as she is dancing her self I to a frenzy in her own little world.. The older people are enjoying the dancing and seem to prefer it to the expected bingo.
Sorry must be a mainstream, present day gransnetter....not sure I understand that crack however.
You know an ad is good when you always stop to watch it when it's on and still chuckle at the end. I used to like the Volkswagen ones and, at the moment like the Ikea t shirts one. I don't know how people think them up.
I agree about the Specsavers ad. I love all of the other ones [especially the shepherd one] but can't bear to watch the one with the old people. I think it is mocking them.
jbf could you slow down a bit, please, and find out what that ad is about? It may be a positive one, not "using" the old person in a bad way. Anyway, it's giving an older actor/model a job, isn't it.
They are funny! Especially the one with the farmer shearing the sheepdog!
I've worn glasses for what seems forever, so the ads don't worry me. Of course, one's eyes like everything else wear out the older one gets, so it stands to reason they target the older people who probably buy two or three different pairs for different jobs as well.
They're no worse than the dating ads where a young cool guy ends up sitting next to a tortoise as his date on the sofa. It just gets the message across.
There's another one at the moment. Not on the telly. On those glass panels by bus stops. An old lady with a post-it note on her forehead. I don't know what it's advertising. Why us an old person? It's ageist.
