"Alas poor Scruff, I knew him well, who could forget that pungent smell?"

Iam64 Thu 08-Sept-16 22:32:14

I've just listened on catch up,,phew. Merlot, I enjoyed your bugger bugger bugger post and you deserved the stiff g and t.

I hope the Judge chucks the tweeter in the cells for contempt and to give himself time to have a judicial curse and stiff drink of his choice. After that, I hope he decides the trial must continue as it's unfair to the victim and witnesses to expect them to do it all again. The financial cost of a retrial would be a blow to the public purse and worse, would leave Helen and jack in limbo, or in this case HMP.

Wasn't Bruce everything we expected him to be.

Pat - I've benn feeling bad for complaint. She lost her oldest son to a farm accident, Tom jilted Kirsty at the alter, tony was almost killed by Ottoman (the bull, not an Eastern European farm worker ) , Helen caused conflict with tony when she elected to have a sperm diner baby/Henry, pat mediated through that and supported everyone through everything else. She saw through rob but Helen has often threatened to flounce if not given full support plus rob wore down Pats natural suspicion with the result she blames herself. A mother's place, as we know, is in the wrong. No wonder she's wailing.,

I do hope the witness intimidation comes out. The prosecution barrister has his suspicions I'm sure. Too late for Ian but hopefully Jess will be able to say something.

What happened to Neill's statement? We didn't hear anything about it.

sara4 Thu 08-Sept-16 20:25:29

I've had to stop listening but read gransnet each evening to get some idea of what is going on. I might listen on Sunday morning.

merlotgran Thu 08-Sept-16 19:54:39

Hot off the press!

chelseababy Thu 08-Sept-16 19:49:04

I had an awful thought that Jess was going to say what a wonderful husband Rob was!

Gracesgran Thu 08-Sept-16 19:42:48

I have to agree with the comments about Pat. I feel she has been abducted and replaced by an alien but I don't blame 'Pat' and after today's kitchen sink was thrown in I don't blame the SWs. Thank heavens someone is just about to leave!

Re earlier comment about what can be reported, there is a murder trial currently being reported on the news and I was surprised just how much is being reported.

Nandalot Thu 08-Sept-16 19:41:16

I didn't hear clearly the last thing the Prosecution said to Rob and Bruce. Was it that he wasn't sure if the trial would go ahead?

merlotgran Thu 08-Sept-16 19:33:36

DH has just made me a stiff gin grin

merlotgran Thu 08-Sept-16 19:32:15

Apparently they can carry on without the tweeting juror who hopefully will be thrown in front of a coach full of Archers fans to the lions.

I'm so cross. Jess's testimony and Bruce's shouting was just what we wanted to hear. Bugger, Bugger, Bugger!

Poor Ian sad

Elrel Thu 08-Sept-16 19:30:55

I was looking forward to Bruce spending a couple of weeks inside for contempt!!
Poor Ian, I'd almost forgotten his awful 'day in court'. Quite an episode this evening!!

Elrel Thu 08-Sept-16 19:27:30

Merlot - my first thought was 'Halt the trial? Whaaaat??!!' I feel shocked, deprived, disappointed!
NOW I need a hot choccy and may even make Nutella and peanut brownies!

LullyDully Thu 08-Sept-16 19:24:47

Why can't we just get on with it.? Why throw a spanner in the works? Bruce is an impossible b- - - - -! Wouldn't they throw him out of court? Are jury members allowed mobiles????? So frustrating.

Lazigirl Thu 08-Sept-16 19:24:42

Oh am quite cross if the SW think they can keep everyone hanging on for months for another trial they're just taking the p****angry

phoenix Thu 08-Sept-16 19:24:17

Aaaarrrggghhh!

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 08-Sept-16 19:22:59

How do they think of these things? And keep it secret. grin

Tweeting indeed! hmm

merlotgran Thu 08-Sept-16 19:21:35

I don't believe it. Just as it was getting really good.

[wailing tears of frustration emoticon]

What on earth happens now. Anyone know?

Off to Mumsnet to see what their legal eagles think.

Elrel Thu 08-Sept-16 19:18:41

Wow - there's an unexpected twist !! What a vile man Bruce is and what a brave woman Jess turned out to be!

AyjayF Thu 08-Sept-16 19:18:37

The trial halted? Oh, no!!!

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 08-Sept-16 19:18:03

Well! There's a turn up for the books! What will they do? Throw the case out and start over aain?

Oh please no!!!! shock

merlotgran Thu 08-Sept-16 17:01:41

I feel sorry for Tony (and I've given him some stick in the past.) Pat seems to have forgotten that he's had a heart attack, a near death encounter with a bull and Helen is his daughter as well. Her oscar winning weeping and wailing is all about HER and what she didn't do/could have done/wished she'd spotted etc., etc.

He must be heartbroken and sounds so sad and weary Pat should be worried stiff about him and showing him some support instead of expecting it all to come from him. sad

Where are his sisters in his hour of need? angry

LullyDully Thu 08-Sept-16 16:39:00

Thanks 64. Agree I prefer the younger Pat.

Helen has served 6 months . What sentence do we think she is facing?

shysal Thu 08-Sept-16 16:14:01

Sorry, merlot, was referring to your 'shut the F up', missed a page.

shysal Thu 08-Sept-16 16:12:33

I was shouting that at the radio last night merlot!

merlotgran Thu 08-Sept-16 14:58:46

Oi! Miss Marple! How come you haven't found Stefan's body yet?? grin

Daddima Thu 08-Sept-16 14:43:55

In Scotland, the defence can offer to plead guilty on a lesser charge ( not one of the two already mentioned), and the Procurator Fiscal ( prosecution) can agree or disagree.

I don't think it matters much how "persuasive" Helen was, as I'd think they'd need more concrete evidence, likes got about the call to the helpline, or what happened when Wob and Arseula went to the boarding school ( they did, didn't they?)
There just seems to be a lot of speculation.

Regards,

J. Marple.
