It isn't something I usually comment on but

Leslie Joseph is 71 in two weeks time!!!!!!!

Ana Sun 20-Nov-16 19:06:04

Thought you were 'saying nothing', Jane10...

Sorry, I did say I wasn't going to look at this thread until after the Sunday programme, but I do find it a bit uncomfortable when people who know the result are posting and making comments.

Jane10 Sun 20-Nov-16 18:42:46

I wonder if the judges are giving really high marks to some of them in an attempt to get Ed to the dance off so they can dispose of him?

Charleygirl Sun 20-Nov-16 18:18:09

I agree Anniebach- some were getting really high scores for the first week. It is not done on a level playing field- one aged 18 another 70. Ed having had no dancing experience and others years.

Anniebach Sun 20-Nov-16 17:55:50

I hope Judge and Ed are not in the dance off, this year the majority were almost perfect on week one

Charleygirl Sun 20-Nov-16 17:39:49

If they are both still in next week I may add the judge to my list because like you Jane I like to be entertained, not watch somebody who has danced on the west end stage for years.

Wobblybits Sun 20-Nov-16 17:38:56

Watched it on catch up so too late to vote. But I would still have voted for Ed, he may not be the most polished performer, but he has improved so much and has such a great attitude to it. I'm sure Ed has a future career as a presenter away from politics, like Michael Portillo.

Jane10 Sun 20-Nov-16 17:18:46

I vote for Ed and Judge because I really enjoy seeing them dance. The polished performers are just boring to me.

Charleygirl Sun 20-Nov-16 17:13:22

I have to admit that I have voted on 3 consecutive weeks for Ed. I think that the judge also has a large fan club. The two of them do work very hard.

I find it quite touching that Yvette turns up every week to watch Ed.

suzied Sun 20-Nov-16 16:18:03

Trouble is, loads of people vote for Ed for the amusement/ entertainment factor so he never gets in the dance off. Let's face it, it's an entertainment, not just a dancing, programme.

aggie Sun 20-Nov-16 15:57:29

no no not Greg I like him and his dancing has improved so much , his height is not helpful though

BlueBelle Sun 20-Nov-16 15:50:19

I think the dance off should be Mr Balls ( oh dear his time is looooong up) and Greg Rutherford

Jane10 Sun 20-Nov-16 15:45:05

I'm saying nothing!

Charleygirl Sun 20-Nov-16 15:44:13

I cannot believe that we are now down to 7 or 8 candidates. I did enjoy it last night and thought that everybody there enjoyed dancing at Blackpool.

I know who should be in the dance off but it is anybody's guess who does end up there.

Great Balls of Fire will never be the same for me again!!!

Ana Mon 14-Nov-16 18:02:32

Claudia definitely said he was going to jive to Great Balls of Fire next week.

Whether she was joking or nor remains to be seen, of course!

merlotgran Mon 14-Nov-16 17:58:56

I'd love to see Ed dance the Argentine Tango grin

felice Mon 14-Nov-16 17:02:35

Something witout a comic interpretation and music perhaps.
I know the pro dancer does the choreography but there always seems to be a comedy act.
I assume it is encouraged by the producers. How could Gangman Style ever be anything other than comic.

NotTooOld Mon 14-Nov-16 16:38:15

Oh, thank you gillybob, how rude of him. I think Oti is lovely and a fantastic dancer. DM certainly does seem rather vain and the fact that he has had all this previous dance experience seems quite unfair. I think Daisy had a good run for her money and I loved her costume this week but she is not as good a dancer as, say, Claudia or Louise. I'm afraid Ed will go after Blackpool which is probably for the best even though I will miss his contribution.

ninathenana Mon 14-Nov-16 16:01:28

felice what do you class as a "proper" dance, ballroom as opposed to Latin ?

Jane10 Mon 14-Nov-16 15:02:58

I bet he doesn't go out!

Ana Mon 14-Nov-16 14:58:03

Didn't they say he was doing a jive next week?

felice Mon 14-Nov-16 14:42:13

I wonder if they gave ED a 'proper' dance how he would get on. he has obviously improved ?

BlueBelle Mon 14-Nov-16 14:02:22

Oh I do hope so Candlefran I too have never heard of Daisy mind you I often havent heard of the modern 'celebrities'

Candlefran Mon 14-Nov-16 13:26:52

I think Ed will, sadly, go out next.

merlotgran Mon 14-Nov-16 13:22:40

I liked Daisy and I'm sorry she had to go when she is a far better dancer than Ed but Strictly is an entertainment programme not a serious dance competition until the later stages otherwise they wouldn't book any duffers in the first place.

Ed's comic timing is brilliant. I've been voting for him but probably won't after Blackpool as the remaining dancers are so good.

Jalima Mon 14-Nov-16 12:33:38

As a super model she is a great role model!
