Oh no, politics on this thread as well...thlhmm

Jane10 Mon 24-Oct-16 20:39:14

Good point-lucky we don't have a say in the American presidential election grin

LullyDully Mon 24-Oct-16 20:28:00

Look what you get when you let the great British public to vote!! Ed Balls, Brexit and Honey G.!!!!!!!

Charleygirl Mon 24-Oct-16 17:32:43

At least Anton is not dancing this week unless he is with the professionals only. I wonder who will replace Aliash if required?

petra Mon 24-Oct-16 15:53:10

Anton & Aliash (sp) both have the bug that Brendan has.

Wobblybits Mon 24-Oct-16 11:03:42

I suspect the public vote will get Ed to Blackpool, then the dance performance will prevail.

Charleygirl Mon 24-Oct-16 10:23:01

I agree Wobblybits Ore is the one to watch. Danny Mac is a superb dancer but he has had years of dancing in West End shows whereas Ore has not.

I am sure that Lesley will be pleased to have a rest this week- she was very gracious in defeat. Difficult at her age trying to fit in a full time job also.

I do like to see what Ed gets up to but from now decent dancers will be leaving whereas he is still stumbling around, getting the public vote.

PRINTMISS Mon 24-Oct-16 10:17:40

I think Lesley was quite relieved to be off the show, she has every right to feel proud of herself, and equally every right to feel relieved she does not have to put herself through all that strenuous exercise again. I thought Anton looked a bit 'off colour' - as did Brendon last week, I wonder if there is some sort of bug going round. Always enjoy the programme, of course Ed Balls should be off, but it is entertaining never-the-less.

Wobblybits Mon 24-Oct-16 09:42:32

The problem with Strictly is that some see it as a dance competition whilst other see it as entertainment.

Ed is still there because many find him entertaining. If it was purely on his dance skills he would be long gone. I guess the public want to see at Blackpool. It annoys me when the judges critisis the public opinion, it is the public that are paying for the show.

Might be as well that Lesley went before she killed herself trying, but well done to get this far.

The good dancers will win through at the end, they always do. My money is on Ore

BlueBelle Mon 24-Oct-16 09:22:31

I don't know anything about hardly any of these people, so apart from Ed which is pretty obvious and probably Greg, are you thinking they nearly all have dance backgrounds That's ok if they were all picked with a similar background I don't think being in a girl band or singing on stage means they ve necessarily had a dancing background but if they ve had years of stage dance training then it's very unfair and should be two different shows complete beginners and then the semi trained

petra Mon 24-Oct-16 09:13:41

According to Ed Balls partner, Katya Jones, he gets giddy doing the spins. That was the reason for the 'stumble'. He definitely won't do a John Sargent.

DaphneBroon Mon 24-Oct-16 08:51:49

gillybob thlgrinthlgrin

LullyDully Mon 24-Oct-16 08:45:32

She has earned a rest with head held high ( as has Ed......please, remember John Sergeant and resign. )

gillybob Mon 24-Oct-16 08:26:30

She would have made a very good witch in next weeks show would have hardly needed to dress up

Jane10 Mon 24-Oct-16 08:20:34

And some relief?! She's done well but is probably glad to be sitting back and being part of the show by being on talk shows etc. A fillip for her career generally.

Anya Mon 24-Oct-16 06:51:02

Didn't think much of Daisy's Charleston, it lacked energy and he timing was out. But of course she was much better than Ed and shouldn't have been in the dance off.

I, too, thought something was 'off' between Lesley and Anton. In fact didn't think Anton danced especially well. He seemed to lack his usual spark and flair, but perhaps he didn't like his trousers.

Thought Lesley took her defeat wth great dignity.

suzied Mon 24-Oct-16 06:43:04

Does anyone do online voting? You get 3 votes- I wonder if that skews the result?

gillybob Sun 23-Oct-16 22:34:43

Ed should have been in the dance off but is obviously being kept in for the comedy value. Taking him out of the equation, I agree that LJ was the right one to go.

petra Sun 23-Oct-16 22:28:43

Daisy was in the dance off because people didn't vote for her as they took it as a given that she would get through.
One of the best dancers on the show, Ore, has never danced in his life.

Ana Sun 23-Oct-16 21:51:56

Louise attended the Italia Conti Academy for several years before she joined a girl band and would of course have had further coaching for her stage performances.

Certainly not a level playing field!

NotTooOld Sun 23-Oct-16 21:29:44

Very surprising that Daisy was in the dance-off. I think she was surprised, too, but her timing was definitely off on occasion.

I think Lesley expected to go but she looked quite tearful at the end. Makes you wonder if Anton will ever be given a partner who might win. Perhaps he prefers it that way as he seems to be involved in other telly things.

Anastacia is becoming very annoying and I would like her to go although her dancing is actually improving, so she probably won't. I wonder if Brendan will be back next week?

As for Ed, of course he should really have gone last week, never mind this week, but he has a lot of fans it seems. I hope he gets some suitable choreography next week.

I'm glad Greg is still in, he seems like a nice person and he's had no dance training unlike some of the others. Has Louise had dance training, does anyone know? If not, she's very good for a beginner.

Good old Strictly, it does cheer us up at this gloomy time of year, doesn't it?

BlueBelle Sun 23-Oct-16 20:45:18

Well the only time he entertained me was his face when he nearly dropped his partner

Jane10 Sun 23-Oct-16 20:36:34

Lesley didn't seem too upset. Maybe enoughs enough. She's done well. James Jordan tweeted that he's not surprised Eds still in as it's an entertainment programme not a straight dance competition as its not a level playing field as they are not all beginners. Go Ed!
