Can't find the old thread.

How silly the Matt storyline is - like the Rob storyline it is OTT. No-one is as villainous as Matt is being portrayed - they have just made him a stereotype of evil and it is ridiculous. I have never met anyone who encapsulates evil to this degree.

Stop it now you crazy scriptwriters and give as some storylines that reflect real life.

He did, Lazigirl. shock shock Not something you want to hear when you're hanging on by a thread.

Nice that the SWs made Eddie the calm and sensible one for a change.

What a shock! If it makes us all the more alert to "just a cut or scratch" so much the better.

Moocow Sat 24-Feb-18 06:17:36

Such a shock and not what i would have chosen to listen to in the early hours during a bad sleep disturbed night. Reminding myself it's fiction to help get over the shock and upset feeling.

Matriark Sat 24-Feb-18 09:19:48

Me too, Moocow! I woke up this morning wondering if it was all a bad dream! It’s so mean to do that to poor Will!

Lazigirl Sat 24-Feb-18 09:26:19

This storyline was a big shock and as far as I know was kept very quiet. Wasn't aware of any hints anyway.

AyjayF Sat 24-Feb-18 11:11:18

Sad that it was such a young character killed off but realistic as sepsis is such a killer + awareness is growing about it .
Interesting to see how Will copes. Will need support from his family + others which he will find hard to accept. As someone else said the Grundy family are a close knit group (despite Will + Ed falling out( + will come through for him.
Maybe NICs ex partner will make an appearance.

I wonder if it will play out better if you listen to the omnibus addition?

Lazigirl Sat 24-Feb-18 15:40:12

I just wish I hadn't heard TA last night. I was going for an uncomfortable medical procedure today, and all I could think of was ? sepsis!

phoenix Sat 24-Feb-18 16:59:24

GGMK2 confused

GracesGranMK2 Sat 24-Feb-18 17:10:14

Phoenix, sometimes the story - in this case the scratch - seems to make more sense when I listen to the longer version. I find it can be easier to miss things listening to the episode to episode ones.

I was upset. I know it is not for real but as they say S* happens. Terminal illness, sudden accidents. Farming itself is quite dangerous accident wise.

Luckygirl Sun 25-Feb-18 20:03:23

When did Brian admit to knowing about the pollution and being complicit in that possibility? Another episode I guess I must have missed.

Coppernob Sun 25-Feb-18 20:04:46

I must have missed it too!

grumppa Sun 25-Feb-18 21:02:10

And now we have septicaemia on Call the Midwife. Do I detect a BBC campaign?

Elrel Sun 25-Feb-18 21:04:13

Me too, when was that? Or was tonight's conversation with Jenny our reveal?

Almost wish I hadn't watched Call the Midwife this evening. No details as I don't want to let loose a SPOILER ...

merlotgran Sun 25-Feb-18 21:07:55

I feel angry with the BBC for putting listeners and viewers through an emotional wringer so they can flog their 'awareness' message.

Enough!!!!

GracesGranMK2 Sun 25-Feb-18 23:16:57

I missed Brian's confession too.

Elrel Wed 28-Feb-18 10:07:21

Did anyone hear Brian confess except to Jenny Darling?

AyjayF Wed 28-Feb-18 11:05:37

I think Brian has only confessed to Jenny Dahling.
She took the opportunity to get a signature in about his affairs + secrecy. At last!!

AyjayF Wed 28-Feb-18 11:06:32

Signature? Where did that come from? A dig.!!!

Luckygirl Wed 28-Feb-18 11:47:24

I think it was meningitis on Call the Midwife.

Yes - good to hear Jenny pointing out that Brian has been less than perfect over the years!

merlotgran Wed 28-Feb-18 19:46:04

Heavens! Jennifer's dinner party sounded like something out of a Carry On film.

I think I'd rather get back to the doom and gloom and knowing what Nic actually said to Joe.

Elrel Wed 28-Feb-18 22:31:23

TMI from Roy for me. Especially his ancient Villa boxers! Poor Lexi. Maybe she should move in with Adam and Ian. Though that would not get her away from JD's insulting attempts to control her diet.
I seem to be losing interest in what's going on, I feel as if TA has, for me, lost its steady, predictable rhythms.

Lazigirl Thu 01-Mar-18 09:49:29

Yes Merlot becoming a total farce. Death one day, Carry On the next! What other treats in store confused

GracesGranMK2 Thu 01-Mar-18 09:58:27

My only complaint would be that the Nic story went so quickly. I like the normal to life pacing of the Archers - but of course that may well have been.

As a series it has always had its more comic aspect but I don't see Jennifer as that. You only have to read the "estranged" threads on here to see how easy it is to get it wrong or get at cross purposes. That's what this seems to be to me - just a playing out of characters.
