Can't find the old thread.

How silly the Matt storyline is - like the Rob storyline it is OTT. No-one is as villainous as Matt is being portrayed - they have just made him a stereotype of evil and it is ridiculous. I have never met anyone who encapsulates evil to this degree.

Stop it now you crazy scriptwriters and give as some storylines that reflect real life.

I hope Alistair doesn't try suicide Nfk, only because the idea of anyone reaching that point is so distressing. I haven't heard the episode where he fails to respond to Shula's emergency call and Topper dies but that will add to Shula's fire, as well as to Alistair's growing feeling that he's got nothing positive to keep anyone in his life.
loopy loo - no I'm not delighted Brian is having to sell "his" house. It's the family home, 50% of it belongs legally to Jenny Darling. I'm very sad for Jenny and for the rest of the family. Adult children usually return to the family home whenever there is something to celebrate or commiserate about. If the house sale does go ahead, the impact on every family member is negative.

Is anyone else delighted that Brian is having to sell his house? He has got away with all sorts of things over the years. I hope he doesn't get rescued somehow.

It did sound a bit far fetched. I think Chris will tell Alice who’ll spill the beans.

Anyone else thinks Alistair is going to try and top himself?

MawBroon Tue 31-Jul-18 00:31:28

I wondered whether Harrison was winding Chris up?

Elrel Tue 31-Jul-18 00:26:22

It's so long since he was around that I can't remember much about Robin Fairbrother. Was he always a pretentious wine bore?
He also doesn't seem to grasp that farmers have to work. Is Jill going to start stockpiling flapjacks?
I'm smirking at the thought of Harrison's extracurricular little earner when at uni. It's all going to come out, isn't it?

I have a friend called Rosie, she's 65 and her name suits her well. I like the use of Ruth as her middle name and appreciate she will be called Rosie Ruth Archer - great choice.

Lazigirl Thu 26-Jul-18 16:06:28

I think Rosie is a 'happy' name.

Luckygirl Thu 26-Jul-18 15:51:00

Scribbles - my DGD has a one syllable surname that also begins with R!!!!! grin - you are in a hole - stop digging!!!! smile

fiorentina51 Thu 26-Jul-18 15:34:43

Wosie Woof. ??

Franbern Thu 26-Jul-18 14:04:01

Hope this bubs is going to be able to say her 'R's' correctly!!!

Blinko Thu 26-Jul-18 11:37:59

Only just come across this thread.

No-one is as villainous as Matt is being portrayed...……...I have never met anyone who encapsulates evil to this degree.

George Warleggan?

Scribbles Thu 26-Jul-18 10:44:10

I think either name is fine on its own, Luckygirl but, for me, the alliterative juxtaposition of Rosie and Ruth is jarring.

Luckygirl Thu 26-Jul-18 10:37:57

I have a GD called Rosie.

Scribbles Thu 26-Jul-18 10:15:52

I think anyone called Rosie Ruth might well grow up to hate her parents! It may be cute for a new born but it's a bit twee for an adult.

NfkDumpling Thu 26-Jul-18 07:00:30

My money’s on Jill. Do we know the sex of the baby?

AyjayF Thu 26-Jul-18 06:55:11

Rosie Ruth. That's lovely.?

merlotgran Wed 25-Jul-18 19:57:05

Aww! I'm all disappointed now. I think Juniper's a lovely name.

I have a niece called Jennifer Juniper. Born in the early seventies, in case you hadn't guessed. grin

Lazigirl Tue 24-Jul-18 18:47:35

That's what TA does Scribbles. If you listen for long enough it "recycles". Come to think of it most soaps do I suppose. Meredith is definitely just a made up alibi (gay one) for Lily's frolickin.

merlotgran Tue 24-Jul-18 18:03:24

I don't think there is a Meredith. It was a name Lily plucked out of the air.

crystaltipps Tue 24-Jul-18 17:59:30

Does Meredith know she is being used as cover for Lily’s affair with the lecherer.? Has she been heard?

Scribbles Tue 24-Jul-18 17:40:21

But isn't the torn-between-two-brothers scenario a bit stale now (thinking of Emmur and the Grundys)?

Lazigirl Tue 24-Jul-18 17:32:02

Shall we start a book on Heather or Grace? Definitely Pip will end up with "uncle" Rex suzied

Nannarose Tue 24-Jul-18 16:54:03

PS: So it would be quite tactless to call the baby Grace (which doesn't mean it won't happen!)

Nannarose Tue 24-Jul-18 16:53:09

Not just an affair, she had a termination - very distressing for Shula who was desperate to conceive at the time.
I have a soft spot for Jill and know she has struggled with so many of the Fairbrothers. I still remember the episode when Phil revealed that he had been saving money left to him by Grace, so that the children (his and Jill's of course, could be educated privately). I totally understood Jill's angry reaction - Grace cast a long shadow.......

Suki70 Tue 24-Jul-18 14:24:03

Think you're right suzied, I read that the Fairbrother dad , played by Anthony Head, is to return. Didn't he have an affair with Elizabeth when he was married?
