Can't find the old thread.

How silly the Matt storyline is - like the Rob storyline it is OTT. No-one is as villainous as Matt is being portrayed - they have just made him a stereotype of evil and it is ridiculous. I have never met anyone who encapsulates evil to this degree.

Stop it now you crazy scriptwriters and give as some storylines that reflect real life.

Did anyone hear Brian confess except to Jenny Darling?

GracesGranMK2 Sun 25-Feb-18 23:16:57

I missed Brian's confession too.

merlotgran Sun 25-Feb-18 21:07:55

I feel angry with the BBC for putting listeners and viewers through an emotional wringer so they can flog their 'awareness' message.

Enough!!!!

Elrel Sun 25-Feb-18 21:04:13

Me too, when was that? Or was tonight's conversation with Jenny our reveal?

Almost wish I hadn't watched Call the Midwife this evening. No details as I don't want to let loose a SPOILER ...

grumppa Sun 25-Feb-18 21:02:10

And now we have septicaemia on Call the Midwife. Do I detect a BBC campaign?

Coppernob Sun 25-Feb-18 20:04:46

I must have missed it too!

Luckygirl Sun 25-Feb-18 20:03:23

When did Brian admit to knowing about the pollution and being complicit in that possibility? Another episode I guess I must have missed.

I was upset. I know it is not for real but as they say S* happens. Terminal illness, sudden accidents. Farming itself is quite dangerous accident wise.

Phoenix, sometimes the story - in this case the scratch - seems to make more sense when I listen to the longer version. I find it can be easier to miss things listening to the episode to episode ones.

GGMK2 confused

Lazigirl Sat 24-Feb-18 15:40:12

I just wish I hadn't heard TA last night. I was going for an uncomfortable medical procedure today, and all I could think of was ? sepsis!

GracesGranMK2 Sat 24-Feb-18 11:16:16

I wonder if it will play out better if you listen to the omnibus addition?

AyjayF Sat 24-Feb-18 11:11:18

Sad that it was such a young character killed off but realistic as sepsis is such a killer + awareness is growing about it .
Interesting to see how Will copes. Will need support from his family + others which he will find hard to accept. As someone else said the Grundy family are a close knit group (despite Will + Ed falling out( + will come through for him.
Maybe NICs ex partner will make an appearance.

Lazigirl Sat 24-Feb-18 09:26:19

This storyline was a big shock and as far as I know was kept very quiet. Wasn't aware of any hints anyway.

Matriark Sat 24-Feb-18 09:19:48

Me too, Moocow! I woke up this morning wondering if it was all a bad dream! It’s so mean to do that to poor Will!

Moocow Sat 24-Feb-18 06:17:36

Such a shock and not what i would have chosen to listen to in the early hours during a bad sleep disturbed night. Reminding myself it's fiction to help get over the shock and upset feeling.

Newquay Fri 23-Feb-18 23:03:16

What a shock! If it makes us all the more alert to "just a cut or scratch" so much the better.

merlotgran Fri 23-Feb-18 22:10:55

He did, Lazigirl. shock shock Not something you want to hear when you're hanging on by a thread.

Nice that the SWs made Eddie the calm and sensible one for a change.

Luckygirl Fri 23-Feb-18 21:19:28

Thanks merlot - I think I did miss that episode.

Lazigirl Fri 23-Feb-18 21:14:12

Did I hear right Joe saying to Nik, you're bound to be scared between this place and the next, or something similar?

GracesGranMK2 Fri 23-Feb-18 20:55:35

Thanks Merlot. That's very comprehensive. I am just going to see if Mumsnet spoilers has any ideas smile

merlotgran Fri 23-Feb-18 20:38:10

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/4GLsKHCCPKX9zBJk0MFWpNY/nic-grundy-s-death-what-is-sepsis-and-why-did-no-one-spot-it

This explains the connection between Joe and the cut on Nic's arm

GracesGranMK2 Fri 23-Feb-18 20:36:25

Thanks merlot. I didn't know about the facebook page. That's how I heard it but you could be right about Matt, it just hadn't occurred to me. She has been behaving out of character recently and that would definitely explain it.

MawBroon Fri 23-Feb-18 20:30:08

I also felt v surprised she went downhill so quickly -as an otherwise healthy young woman I mean.
Paw had several tangles with biliary sepsis but was in his 60’s, dodgy heart valve, compromised immune system kidney and liver problems and yet fought it off on several occasions with IV anti-b’s.
Yes it is or can be lethal, but this was extreme. sad

Luckygirl Fri 23-Feb-18 20:29:57

What is all this about her having run Matt over? - this has come from left field for me. Have I missed an episode?

And just read that Joe might feel guilty about Nic's cut - why would that be?
