Can't find the old thread.

How silly the Matt storyline is - like the Rob storyline it is OTT. No-one is as villainous as Matt is being portrayed - they have just made him a stereotype of evil and it is ridiculous. I have never met anyone who encapsulates evil to this degree.

Stop it now you crazy scriptwriters and give as some storylines that reflect real life.

Confused of Devon confused

Elrel Fri 23-Feb-18 20:10:16

Nooo, I was holding my breath but couldn't believe the SWs had actually written Nik out. I know it's not real life but it I hoped against hope that she'd struggle through.

Listened on facebook and none the wiser - perhaps because one hearing aid is not working!

merlotgran Fri 23-Feb-18 19:48:43

Have a look at The Archers facebook page. It's easier to understand what Nic was trying to say when you read it on the video.

I wouldn't like to be Jolene right now.

GracesGranMK2 Fri 23-Feb-18 19:39:08

Do you think merlot? I didn't get any of what she said but just assumed she felt she had treated Emma badly. I have a feeling this won't help the sibling dynamic. The Bull won't be a comfortable place either. It has been a bit set up hasn't it.

phoenix Fri 23-Feb-18 19:37:23

What???!!!! shock

What did I miss?

merlotgran Fri 23-Feb-18 19:34:04

So it looks as though it was Nic who ran over Matt Crawford. sad

GracesGranMK2 Fri 23-Feb-18 19:27:45

It was mentioned HLL apropos of nothing at all and it did seem a little odd but then I forgot it.

GracesGranMK2 Fri 23-Feb-18 19:26:45

I was here before you watching and how everyone else was - it was a shock.

That's the character phoenix and if you have feelings about her as a person the SWs have done a good job.

phoenix Fri 23-Feb-18 19:21:51

Well! (As Mr P) would say, now there's thing!

Must say that I won't miss Nic's sugary sweet voice.

(Dons tin hat and waits for GracesGran MK2 to appear and attack!)

GracesGranMK2 Fri 23-Feb-18 19:20:55

I didn't see that coming. Goodness, goodness me.

HannahLoisLuke Fri 23-Feb-18 19:20:52

I'm shocked at tonight's episode, when did Nick get an infected cut? I've listened every night and didn't pick that up. Furious with SWs for killing her off. Stunned and quite upset.

MawBroon Fri 23-Feb-18 19:18:51

Spoiler alert, look away now

O M G sadsad
Not Nik!

A tour of the studio (also used for 'Home Front') is very interesting! Different flights of stairs, doors, a kitchen, various underfoot surfaces, and a 'dead room' with no reflected sounds for when they are apparently out of doors.
Also an amazing machine with a huge range of recorded sounds including every kind of animal noise that could possibly be needed! Oh, a stockroom crammed with all kinds of random bits and pieces for making sounds. We also met a producer and a script writer. Fascinating tour.

Not running the stables then, GG2 but Dan and Doris's horsey daughter. This was about the time Grace died.

Nannarose Thu 22-Feb-18 22:05:17

I have listened to The Archers all my life - my mother had just 'fallen' for me when it started, and always 'put her feet up' to listen. I actually think that the way Joe Grundy speaks is very typical of older village characters - when I was young, everyone was either called by a nickname (if male) or their full name.
And Shula's sighing is what annoys me.

GracesGranMK2 Thu 22-Feb-18 21:46:15

Was she running the stables then merlot? The studio, whenever they have shown it on TV, always seemed amazingly basic compared to what happens in my head.

I hope Neil is going to be okay. It would be very mean to give him a good job and then make him ill, but it does happen.

Elrel Thu 22-Feb-18 21:41:00

I think Neil is heading for serious health issues being driven by Susan's ambitions and his own work ethic which will ensure he tries to be Justin's perfect manager.
And as for poor Nik, is this sepsis? Please, SW, don't leave those 3 children to be brought up by Will.

Christine is the first character I remember when I was eight years old listening at my father's knee (doesn't that sound quaint?)

I was horse mad and always had my ears pricked for the clippety-clop sounds in the yard. Of course, I thought it was a real horse and not some bloke knocking two halves of a coconut together. grin

phoenix Wed 21-Feb-18 22:52:04

Scribbles well done for adding Christine, even before the Matt thing, she had always been such a wet blanket, so even if Not deserving of a slap, then maybe a jolly good shake!

GracesGranMK2 Wed 21-Feb-18 22:51:56

Brian has so little equity in the marriage bank - I think he is really pushing his luck.

GracesGranMK2 Wed 21-Feb-18 22:50:44

Not really. I just don't type 'amused' merlot.

phoenix Wed 21-Feb-18 22:47:12

Erm, just checking, is frivolity, light heartedness (sp?) allowed on this thread?confused

I can appreciate that on some threads levity would be very inappropriate, but really.............(sub text to those that need it, get a grip! And ONLY those that do! smile

Scribbles Wed 21-Feb-18 22:45:35

I'd just like to add to the Slap List: Christine because she fell for Matt's scam and Kate because ... er, well, ... just for being Kate, really.

merlotgran Wed 21-Feb-18 19:43:41

No more devilled kidneys for you then, Brian. hmm
