Who is this new character Philip? I think I must have missed something. Everyone seems to know him.

Rob can't have had anything to do with it because the contamination was traced to an old pond on Home Farm land which was filled in decades ago using stuff dumped by some builders.

Jennifer mistakenly thought it was on land sold to them by Justin but had to eat humble pie when it turned out she was mistaken.

I'd forgotten that Justin owned the land previously and it is nearer the dairy so I wonder why Brian is taking the rap? There is another new editor so it could all change as they all want to stamp their mark. Watch this space.

The drums of chemicals on Brian's land, do you think it was an act of revenge by Rob before he left.

Remember, the land was owned by Justion prior to Brian purchasing it and Justin gave Rob the heave ho. Just a thought.

After the programme on Friday the announcer said Brian wouldn't be the first to go to prison. I'm assuming she meant Helen, or was there something way back.

Was Jennifer stoned or merely “tired and emotional” in last night’s episode?

Stefan came back to blackmail Rob. Lilian overheard him upping the blackmail demand and told Justin (we didn't know that at the time) Justin called Rob to a meeting and dragged out the suspense only telling Rob, who was quickly becoming a gibbering wreck, that he knew all about Stefan and the culvert. He then sacked Rob and paid off Stefan.

I thought Stefan came back briefly after that and told Justin everything before going home again.
Do we know when this landfill was dumped and where it came from?

Merlot - that sounds about right but Rob insisted that only he could contact him and there seemed doubt whether Stefan really went home. At the time we didn't know how ruthless and deranged Rob was.

That was when Rob was still working for Berrow Farm and Charlie was the manager. Rob needed to get rid of Stefan because he'd seen him blocking the culvert. Can't remember whether he had something to blackmail him over or just paid him off but Stefan left suddenly and Rob told everyone he'd gone back to Poland to deal with a family illness.

Elrel, your memory is my memory, both in your recollection that Stefan told ? Adam he had something important to tell him, only to disappear. My memory is also increasing far from perfect.

I thought Stefan told someone (Adam?) that he wanted to tell him something important but then disappeared. Rob must have been still around as he later insisted that Stefan had gone home (because his mother was ill) but there was no way anyone (except Rob himself?) could contact him. It was about the time that Charlie was sent north too I think.

PS Nfk - My memory is far from perfect. Where are the old episodes available?

I felt sure someone saw Stefan after he’d left? Probably wrong, I sometimes listen to old episodes to catch up and could well have got muddled.

I laughed when Kate reckoned she could get a manager in a couple of days.

BTW Who is living in Kate's cottage?

merlotgran, you are of course correct in your re-telling of this story line. However - this is Ambridge. It's entirely possible that Rob killed Stephan with arsenic, which is now suddenly finding its way out of his remains and into the Am.....
I do hope Brain and Jenidot don't lose all their cash. Who is going to run the Yurts and holistic massage/therapy centre when Kate goes to SA????

This is from Lowfield so unless Stefan snuck back into Ambridge and Justin strangled him with the missing bunting (before he had a chance to cash his pay off cheque) I think/hope we can rest assured Stefan is back in Poland.

Am I the only one who heard the episode where Justin paid Stefan enough money to go back to Poland and Not Come Back?

Hopefully Nfk. There's never been a resolution to the Stephan storyline has there?
