Well in the end the predictable didn't happen! I was half expecting (hoping) Matt would turn up or Justin be arrested for attempted murder. Still it was an unexpected twist.

So it looks like a winter break for Lilian, married or not.

I missed last night's episode merlotgran but, the script writers always get the equine related discussions wrong. We tack up and have specific names for pieces of tack. During the silly bridle snap incident when Saint Rob rescued poor Shula, the use of names for tack was wrong. Additionally, the idea of Shula going out for a quiet hack, never mind a hectic hunt, without first checking every single piece of tack is impossible to believe.

Surely Shula should know that we're not in the Wild West. In the UK we tack up not saddle up!

Bet you a pound to a pinch of you know what that in episodes to come, Freddy will sell or pawn the ring.

Lazigirl I have a book of poems by Rupert Brooke with a sketch of him by Gwen John in the frontispiece. I think. Must check in the morning!

Now these valuables are out of the bank who's going to foot the insurance bill I wonder? I'd like the Gwen John painting.

Never expected the twins' 18th to bring a tear to my eye, they said such lovely things to Elizabeth after the skating. Not sure Freddie will be able to resist the temptation of that valuable antique ring however!

No MawBroon, Pip would be ill advised to "just give the baby to Ian and Adam". Mind you, it would make inheritance at the various farms even more complex and interested.

I don't want to offend anyone because I know termination isa difficult subject but -I do wish the Archers would replicate real life occasionally. Can there not be a single pregnancy or desire to be pregnant that isn't fraught with complications. I doubt the Archers is ready to have a termination story where the individual gets on with their life without major trauma and without everyone in Ambridge knowing about it. Just recalled Elizabeth did have a termination and did get on with her life.
I suppose I just wish they hadn't imposed an unplanned pregnancy on Pip and Toby. Or indeed, on David and Ruth, poor parents, full of hope that Pip would fall in love with the farmer and live happily ever after

Can't see Pip going through with termination either - so happy ending all round - depending on your point of view of course!

Emma is now a strong character working hard for her family. She may have been sharp with Johnny but would have opened his eyes to other people's struggles.

What a load of miserable self centred whingers in Ambridge tonight. Will Ian ever be satisfied even if Adam does become the sperm donor?

Emma is turning into a nasty piece of work and it's about time Shula started counting her blessings especially if she really did run over Matt and is getting away with it.

Exactly Lazigirl - Pip may be a bit daft where Toby is concerned but she wouldn't be daft enough to have unprotected sex with him. I was hoping to see a young woman growing in confidence and developing wider friendships, even falling in love with Alfie but this seems like scriptwriters who just want to cause distress to every inhabitant of Ambridge!

I agree Iam they tend to fit characters into storylines which do not fit with their personalities. I do not think what we know of Pip that she would become pregnant by accident - she's not naive in that respect.

The incidence of instant pregnancy during a one off one night stand between former couples in the Archers must be down to the amount of cake the characters eat. Having Pip pregnant by Toby is lazy scriptwriting. I'm fed up! Bring back Nelson Gabriel and Nigel

I don't think things got that far! - or at least not to my knowledge.

Thanks I missed those episodes, but when did Alfie come into the picture. Too late presumably for it to be his?
