Vera

I enjoy both series, too. Vera is especially entertaining because I look out for local places where the filming took place. In the last programme Vera was supposed to go to a place in the Borders (i.e. between England and Scotland) called ?Morna. In fact she was on the border of Durham and Northumberland, in Blanchland. Knowing the places doesn't make the programme any less enjoyable for me.

I thought she had bought a new but identical coat to the one she was already wearing.

Love Vera! It's very well-made and the characters are so real. I have a light-hearted question about the ending of "Cold River." Did Vera actually buy a second-hand bra at the end of the show and is this the origin of the tag she removes? All asked in simple curiousity.

We are late to Vera here and need a good crime fix.But looking on ITV hub there is a very random selection of episodes.The first ever one is there but then only another 10 episodes.I know that would keep us going for a while but I'd prefer to watch from the beginning in order, as even if it's a separate crime each time the central characters story develops too.Does anyone know if they are available elsewhere or will old episodes reappear?

I too love watching Vera

It's one of my favourites too.

We enjoy watching it but although I think Brenda Blethyn is a good actress she seems too old for the role. She is about 73 and even if she is supposed to be playing an officer a decade younger she would probably be retired. I noticed it particularly this episode when she seemed to struggle a bit walking over the landfill, though trying to hide it. Her younger colleagues seemed to have no such problem. Mind you, I would have probably ended up on the landfill if I had had to walk over it.

Vera, Morse, Endeavour, Lewis, Silent Witness and Foyle’s War is our list of enjoyable viewing.

We have actually been watching re runs of the above, thoroughly enjoyable as newish programmes. ? anyone else have such a bad memory as we have? We do vaguely remember the story but, never the ending!

Missed Vera so will have to watch it on catchup.

We like Vera although I do sometimes feel I ought to take notes because by the time it's half way through I start thinking, Who's he/she again?

Always look forward to Vera and to Shetland ,though I believe the next series will be the last .Good old fashioned crime drama without too much gore and bad language

I did enjoy last night's- no gratuitous violence and I could hear and understand what everybody was saying.

Only one problem with Vera, it`s lovely to have it back on, but we only ever get 4 episodes, then have to wait another year for more!

I love Vera - I have been looking forward to it for weeks. A great programme for sitting in front of the fire - like Foyle's War.

I will have to watch the midwives and Les Miserables on catch-up.

Ooops, I was being a bit premature when I mentioned this series on the " Call the Midwife " thread.
Yes, I watched this great actress in her starring role last night----in place of the midwives.
I liked her in Little Voice too. A very versatile actress but I love her in Vera.
