Great stuff. I am currently transferring all my music from one provider to another on my phone prior to travelling again, and re-living many happy days.
Oh and Pink Floyd, Comfortably Numb is one of my favourite rifts. Also some good ones with Joe Bonamassa on his Different Shades of Blue album and also his Blues of Desperation one
BBC 4 is a wonderful source of great music and musicians’ stories. Izabella we love Pink Floyd too, one of our regrets is never seeing them live. I love Shine On You Crazy Diamond, a friend’s son recently died and it was chosen by his three brothers to be the final piece of music played at the celebration of his life.
I caught the end of the Reginald D Hunter programme and will watch it in full soon.
Was lucky enough to Pink Floyd three times. Perhaps the most amazing was next to the racecourse in Chantilly. The light show was pretty amazing and then mother nature let rip with the most amazing electrical storm as the concert ended. One upmanship at its best.
I don't know if you would call it a riff, but I love the guitar solo in the middle of the Carpenter's Ill Say Goodbye to Love. And did they mention Michael Bloomfield? I came across him a few years ago, playing with Dylan. He was brilliant, died very young from ?drugs.
Grandson & granddaughter both got electric guitars from us this xmas. Last weekend he gave us his rendition of Horse with no name as he's doing this in music lessons. He was amazed/shocked when we all started singing along The odd part is that grandson has never been musical (unlike granddaughter) but my daughter was advised to get him a guitar by his music teacher as he said he was so good. Who knew ?
My daughter travelled the length and breadth of this country when there was a heavy-metal band playing. Those were the days when I practically brought up my GC as her and her then husband went away to these concerts most of the time. In later years, daughter flew to Minneapolis to meet her idol, Prince in his nightclub. One of his backing singers used to phone her too.
Music was in the family as my cousin was tour manager to Jimi Hendrix-----among others.
