When the mother zebra managed to pull herself out of the mud. Because her baby needed her?

merlotgran Thu 01-Aug-19 20:14:11

Yes. Me!! grin

That poor little foal has been through so many scrapes I don't think my nerves can stand any more.

Couldn't believe it last week when he staggered across a crocodile's head trying to get to the bank and the croc was so surprised it didn't do anything. shock shock

It is very good .

Did all that fire really start with one tree being struck by lightning? Or is the Beeb cheating again?

Gonegirl Thu 01-Aug-19 21:11:36

Your little dog looks very comfy merlot.

merlotgran Thu 01-Aug-19 21:12:01

DH said the same, Gonegirl. It was all a bit Disney.

Grannyrebel Thu 01-Aug-19 21:18:31

Just watched it too. Love it! Khali is so beautiful. My OH wouldn't believe that fire was real. I think it was. What does everyone else think?

Gonegirl Thu 01-Aug-19 21:19:20

Computer graphics? Stock footage? All combined.

EllanVannin Thu 01-Aug-19 21:28:55

I can't watch programmes like this.

Gonegirl Thu 01-Aug-19 21:33:51

Why? They went to a blank screen for the killing this time.

There's some information on the filming, here

this has been a wonderful series. However, do wonder if we are really watching the same animals they have named all the time. When the young Zebra foal was floundering in themud it was totally covered in the mud, when it finally got out and up the bank, the mud was only on its legs.
However, I am totally in awe of this filming, and do not really care if they have edited bits together to try to keep to story lines.
Just wonder how these animals continue to live in such surroundings, should imagine that the life span is not great for any of them, except perhaps the large elephant females.

Interesting link merlotgran. So it has been pieced together. (Yes. Slightly Disney) There was definitely a drone involved too. I saw it's shadow!

Love it anyway.

GabriellaG54 Mon 05-Aug-19 16:15:52

Yup! My type of programme. Real life...can't beat it. grin

merlotgran Thu 08-Aug-19 20:44:23

F**k off, you big bottomed baboon! grin

Nice one, Bakari.

I really don't like Serengeti. Although I'm ok with watching nature programmes where animals have to kill other animals to survive, I find the way Serengeti is edited unpleasant to watch.
