I loved the book, by Jojo Moyes - it was moving, funny, made me laugh and cry.
And so did the film, but for sadly different reasons. Whoever told Emilia Clarke she could act was very much mistaken; she is absolutely dire, gurning away and generally eyebrow-emoting and being intensely annoying. The rest of the cast was good and it's a shame that Jenna Coleman, appearing briefly as the sister, wasn't given the role of Louisa Clark, she'd have done it so much better, with a bit of finesse and charm. Even DH, who is much less judgemental than I am, was moved to say that he thought the lead had been dreadfully miscast.
I've never watched Game of Thrones so I hope EC is rather better in that than she was in this!
