Film the Joker

Tidelands is the Gilliam film. I felt unclean after watching it and felt the same with Joker. I’m surprised that Phoenix agreed to film a sequel to Joker.

I’ve had the dvd for years but never got round to watching it. When our power was restored last night the tv wasn’t working but the dvd player was so we watched it. I found it very unpleasant ( and I’m not someone that shys away from violence in films and I’m also Game of Thrones hardened). My partner couldn’t watch it. It was a brilliant acting performance but the last time I felt so nauseated by a film was a Terry Gilliam film ( the name of which escapes me).

Not sure those who aren't keen on gratuitous violence will like this.

It's not a film I'd go and see.

Oh dear I said I'd go and see it with Mr. S. as we went to see Downton Abbey and I'm beginning to wonder if I'll be able so sit through it.

Like you TerriBull I hate gratuitous violence.

I've heard it's brilliant but very, very dark with some walking out, all too much I gather and yes mixed reviews, The Sunday Times critic only gave it two stars. I'd quite like to see it, but I hate gratuitous violence, so am wondering if it's for me. One of my friends is going to see it this week, I'll let her report back to me.

My AC saw it this morning and gave it 5 stars, they say that Joaquin Phoenix's performance is 'genius'.
