I was just looking at the Oscar nominations and noticed that this has been nominated for best documentary. I watched it a few months ago when it was first shown on Channel 4. It is described on the All4 app as:
An epic and intimate journey filmed through five years of the uprising in Aleppo, Syria.
It was hard to watch sometimes but these brave people endured the most appalling conditions towards the end of the uprising and their bravery and friendship is very humbling. Sama is the baby daughter of the couple featured in the documentary. I really hope it gets the Oscar.
