Seeing as we're all staying in a little lot more, we'd imagine the telly is getting a fair amount of attention. If you want to chat about whatever you're watching while it's on (or the next day) please do check our Telly forum topic and join in if there's already a conversation running. If not, why not start one? There's almost certainly someone else on here who's watching alongside you and would love the opportunity to dissect the plot/suggest whodunnit/debate actor's suitability to role/just want to say they love or hate it. grin

Tonight watching Pride and Prejudice. It's still a joy.

Unorthodox - excellent but not an easy watch

Seriously considering re-watching Line of Duty from the start
Lockdown likely to last a long time for those of us in the 'vulnerable' group

Any other fans of The Great British Menu ?

Urmstongran Thu 14-May-20 16:50:14

I’m really looking forward to episode 2 in the new series of ‘The Real Marigold Hotel’.

Do many people these days do this sort of advanced level sewing? I have great admiration for those that can - even though my needlework teacher watched over me constantly at school, everything I made turned out to be a complete disaster.

It must be lovely to be able to make your own clothes and choose the exact material and style you want - and get the fit just right.

Sewing Bee is great fun.

I watched 'Letter to Juliet' on Netflix. I thoroughly enjoyed it, a nice gentle film with no violence.

Chewbacca Thu 14-May-20 10:02:35

It was a huge challenge to make the rugby shirt but I was surprised that someone managed to put 2 left sleeves on theirs! grin

I really enjoyed last night's Sewing Bee. smile

I love Esme.

grannypiper Wed 13-May-20 17:46:58

It is Wednesday so it will be Sewing Bee for me

Funnygran Wed 13-May-20 16:40:24

We've been watching various Netflix series and are currently in the middle of a Scandinavian one called Deadwind. Last night we watched Get Carter, the original one from 1971 with Michael Caine. I think we saw it in the cinema when it first came out. A classic even if it is violent.

Tonight we'll watch the second part of "Hospital" (on BBC2, on the last two nights, and is available on BBC I-Player.) These programmes show how one London hospital managed with CV19 admissions, during the first week, after "shut-down" started. Very well done indeed and I think it should be compulsory viewing for anyone who doubts that CV19 is a serious (and extremely communicable) illness, and who doesn't take things seriously. Oddly, at times I found it to be quite uplifting, while still showing the huge overall demands made on staff and services, but then I've only watched the first one, so far.

I'll be watching Mancs in India and following the family meeting their long lost relatives.

EllanVannin Wed 13-May-20 15:39:07

Lovebeigecardigans, only someone as old as myself would have got the £million pound answer as I knew the TT's was before the others, coming from a Manx family.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Wed 13-May-20 13:25:20

I love Millionaire which is my favourite quiz programme. Like you all, I was willing that fellow on.
Have applied to go on it again but dread making a fool of myself if the questions don't suit me.
This evening I'll watch the Sewing Bee and then WWTBAM on plus one.

Vienna Blood, a crime drama, is on BBC2 tonight at 9 pm, shown late last year and very well worth watching if you missed it. It is different which makes a change,

Sillymoo Wed 13-May-20 12:55:42

Sewing Bee tonight - sportswear week which is not my favourite but will still enjoy.

Daddima Wed 13-May-20 11:43:36

Last night I watched Joanna Lumley in Cuba and Haiti on Britbox, then found some of her other travel programmes on You Tube.
I had no idea she had done them.

I also looked at Growing Old Disgracefully in Tenerife, which I did, indeed, find disgraceful ( but couldn’t stop watching!)

Chewbacca Tue 12-May-20 23:14:32

Portmeirion is the highlight of my week! I've already missed my Spring visit there and have fingers tightly crossed that my Autumn visit will still go ahead. Having seen how busy and crowded it is in Summer, although it's very pretty, I'm glad I haven't stayed there then! grin

JenniferEccles Tue 12-May-20 22:46:24

Wasn’t it great? I was willing him on so much. It was really edge of the seat stuff wasn’t it?
He will certainly get that trip to Niagara Falls now. First class all the way.

Good for him!

Callistemon Tue 12-May-20 22:34:37

Yes, we really enjoyed it.
He could have taken a chance as he thought that D was the correct answer but sensibly decided to take the money.

EllanVannin Tue 12-May-20 22:34:36

I watched the brilliant Millionaire programme. What a well deserved 1/2 million.
I'm going to boast now----about knowing many of those answers.

JenniferEccles Tue 12-May-20 22:31:34

Who wants to be a millionaire.

What a brilliant episode tonight.
The lovely retired GP in a wheelchair with MS got to the one million pound question.
He wasn’t certain of the answer so very sensibly called it a day and left with five hundred thousand.

A very well deserved win.

We had a lovely weekend there years ago for a special birthday.

Portmeirion features at 8pm ITV in The Village, a series I think.
