This is based on a book about the true story of the compilation of The Oxford English Dictionary. Mel Gibson plays Professor Murray who is in charge of the task and Sean Penn plays an American Doctor, Doctor Minor, who is in prison for killing someone he thought was persecuting him. Minor helps Murray with his task and the two men develop a friendship over the years. It is a very powerful story of the struggle Murray faces compiling the dictionary and struggle Minor faces with his mental health. Sean Penn is outstanding in the role of Doctor Minor.
