Getting a bit fed up with the overload of gay story lines. I wish they'd just stick to the medical drama.

We usually watch them too, or record, I keep muttering ‘they’re just soaps now’ and we don’t watch any other soaps, if we do miss them, not difficult to catch up.

I’ve not watched Holby or Casualty on Drama but thank you for that info. Perhaps I’ll have a look tonight. Thank you paddyanne.

I hope they don’t cut it down to 40 minutes. I’m sure they could make more interesting and less daft story lines. I much preferred it when both these soaps dealt with patients and medical and surgical problems and treatments.

Guilty pleasure ?

Ha ha my feelings exactly about Holby - the storylines are so ridiculous and unbelievable, every staff member gets ill, or their partner/mother/brother-in-law turns up at the hospital with something or other but......it’s my guilty pleasure grin

But it'll feel like an hour and a half as usual! I wonder what more can possibly go wrong in that hospital?

I read that both Holby and Casualty were going off air around now. Apparently when Holby returns it will only be a 40 minute programme.

ayse I watch the classic Holby and Casualty on the Drama channel .Its on every morning.Just watched the one where Dan Clifford left after being let down by his brothers wife who he had been in love with siince he was a teen. Some of the characters from back then are great,I'd forgotten Dan Clifford existed...but Donna and Ric are there and Elliot Hope with his drug addict son .I record it amd watch it through the night when I cant sleep

At least I’m not alone then but I just had to have a grumble.

I m exactly like you jane I keep watching it but it’s incredibly annoying now, just about every doctor there either dies or has massive medical problems. It really does irritate but I miss it too for some bizarre reason Probably because there’s nothing else on

Doctors came back for one episode with a not too successful plot of the characters logging in from home.

I imagine they have come to the end of the recordings made before lockdown, and can't have the actors together at the moment, heaven forbid that they should touch a actor pretending to be a patient!

Jane10 Tue 18-Aug-20 14:25:43

I spotted that Holby was off again. It really irritates me but I just have to watch it! Wonder when it's back?
Corrie is doing a good job incorporating Coronavirus into the programme. Maybe Holby producers are trying to do the same?

Holby and Casualty are my two guilty pleasures and it’s not on BBC 1 again! I feel very cross. I know it’s only a TV programme but I suspect we all have our favourites.

At least we have been sport free this summer (apologies to any sports lovers).

What with loosing many TV stations to re-alignment of our local mast for 5G, which I definitely don’t want or need, stuff I want to see keeps disappearing.

I realise that lockdown has prevented the making of many soaps but I’m not a happy bunny!

Oh and all the many TV pay station such as Amazon, Now TV etc. have loads of American c**p that doesn’t interest me. Even the documentary programmes on such seem to treat the audience as idiots.
