I am boycotting the program this season. There is no place for such a political statement in a reality talent tv show. You can see the dance on you tube.

I don't watch it. Can't stand Amanda Holden.

I didn't watch it but have read some of the comments in the media.

I agree that a family show is no place for political statements.

Thank you quizqueen will try to catch up with it so I can offer an opinion.

I was discussing this yesterday with my next door neighbour/ friend. A more liberal minded person you couldn't wish to meet. She's outraged. I'm not outraged, I just accept that this is the way things are and aren't going to get any better.

Don't you think that acting that way is going to create more racial tension ?

I thought the dance routine was brilliant but not a political statement. Just a reflection of the world we live in. Contestants often have issues that they are trying to highlight, such as bullying or the "SOS" from the kids. Are these political statements?

I too thought the choreography was amazing, and through the art of dance they definitely got the message across.
The routine was heavily weighted and unbalanced in favour of its political statement; one minute spent on covid, three minutes about the BLM issue. The aggressive moves were also far more evident in the second part, but then I guess that is how they wanted it.

Of course it's going to increase racial tension but they can't/won't see it. I'm actually surprised that Ashley Banjo did this. I thought he was more 'aware' of public feeling.

However, wasn’t Ant and Dec’s wonderful old school song and dance intro just fabulous! That’s what you call Saturday night telly!

I can no longer watch the programme because of the ridiculous panel of judges and their antics they really get my goat
I think diversity are great and although I didn’t see it I have to agree with blueberry it sounds as if it was reflecting society and needs doing black people being killed by police is not a political statement it’s a humanitarian statement surely it surpasses politics
I remember everyone oohing and ahhring over a beautiful choreographed story about the environment and how humans are ruining it a year or two ago it’s the same it’s a humanitarian statement

I like Diversity and Ashley Banjo very much, but was disappointed to see that they`ve jumped on the BLM bandwagon, it didn`t belong in a variety show. Anyway, ALL lives matter.

I watched it and didn't see it as political.

Black people are still having things harder in life because of their skin colour. More so in the USA than here.

I saw the dance by Diversity and while I admire their skills and choreography, and am aware of the issue they highlighted, it did strike me while watching that it was, sort of out of sync with the essence of a young family show. I have no issues with Diveritys BLM message, but feel their choice of platform in this instance was wrong, which seems to be the case, given the fact people are taking more issue with it being aired on BGT, rather than being concerned with the message in the dance, if you get my message!

We watched it and for us it made uncomfortable viewing.

"I can't breath" what that poor man George Floyd was telling the police who were 'restraining' him. I can't breath is also pertinent to Covid 19 because it attacks the lungs.

Dancing to a backdrop of burning buildings gave the appearance of glorifying the riots that took place. 'Riot police' on stage with their protective perspex shields which were then 'dropped' as if in submission to the illegal rioting.

For us it was inappropriate and if Diversity did think BGT was the appropriate stage to promote BLM they shouldn't have incorporate Covid, it should have been one or the other.

If it made you uncomfortable it’s achieved what it set out to do smileless I d rather you feel uncomfortable than another black man suffers at the hands of the police

Do you realise how insulting, how inaccurate your last sentence reads ‘all lives matter‘ don’t you get it? White lives have always mattered, you ve never had the problems associated with racism and hatred and killing because of the colour of your skin you ve never been turned away from housing, jobs, or normal life because you’re white You ve never been looked down on because of the shade of your skin you’ve never been called names had noises made at you, been disrespected, looked on as less important, less ‘human’

‘black lives matter’ simply means ‘our lives are as important as yours, ours matters just as much as your privileged white lives

I thought the dancing was incredible and the whole act a powerful piece of theatre, yes with a strong message, but I didn't think it was inappropriate for a family show.

I already felt uncomfortable to put it mildly about what happened to George Floyd BlueBell as I feel, again to put it mildly, uncomfortable about the thousands who have died of Covid.

As I posted Diversity appeared to be glorifying rioting, the destruction of property and confronting police trying to keep the peace when that type of behaviour breaks out.

Sometimes even the most important message can be 'lost' depending on how it's delivered.

I did see it and as usual Diversity were excellent. Yes they made a statement but it is relative in the current climate, and was bound to be uncomfortable for some. Ashley B had a lot of complaints and compliments and I thought his response was superb. He thanked every for their comments and for those who complained he thanked them too as it showed there was a problem to be addressed. Young people appreciated the message sent out in the routine. There is a big issue here and feeling uncomfortable seeing it seems to prove to me that it does need to be addressed. All races are equal and should be treated the same. I reflected on this performance and my conclusion was, well done!

I think this show is all about the judges and furthering their careers. They are shallow, talentless individuals.
Sadly, Ashley may have fallen into the same trap. There is no denying his brilliant choreography, nor his passion for causes, but maybe on the first night of the show when families sat down to watch, the routine was on the heavy side.
Also, on a completely different point, has anyone noticed how any act which "includes" the judges in the performance always gets put through for their own vanity.

BlueBelle, my remarks weren`t intended to be insulting, I`m sorry you read them that way. Of course black lives matter, I just meant that all lives matter equally, no matter what the colour of someone`s skin.
I may not have grown up being insulted over the colour of my skin, but I suffered taunts and insults over other things, it wasn`t nice.
