Is anyone watching it? I am a little disappointed at the moment.

Oldbat1 Wed 07-Oct-20 21:39:10

We’ve switched it off.

merlotgran Wed 07-Oct-20 21:43:43

Boring. Switched over after 10 minutes.

LullyDully Wed 07-Oct-20 21:51:08

Just off to bed. I would rather get on with my book, it's interesting.?

Tangerine Wed 07-Oct-20 21:52:44

Most of it has been shot in the dark which is something I don't like. I have switched it off too. Pity - I was looking forward to it.

Grandmabatty Wed 07-Oct-20 22:15:41

I thought it was poor so switched off. Helen baxendale is a good actress too. Very disappointed. The dialogue was anachronistic

Callistemon Wed 07-Oct-20 22:47:21

I've recorded it as I thought DH might be interested and he had a Zoom meeting.

Perhaps we'll try it but be prepared to turn it off..

mokryna Wed 07-Oct-20 23:10:33

Well, I did sort of watch it till the end, half the time on GN so it wasn’t time completely wasted. At one moment I thought it had finished nearly switched off but it hadn’t, there was a twist.
That being said I was disappointed.

i presume it is an agatha christie story.
hercule poirot ones and miss marple sometimes are on radio 4 extra at the moment.
i find them very well done. from a few years ago.
actually it shews up how bbc programmes have declined over the last few decades, in my opinion, esp the entertainment ones.

mokryna Thu 08-Oct-20 08:14:28

Wellbeck No, it is written by Tom Dalton.

Lucca Thu 08-Oct-20 09:01:42

Is it an Agatha Raisin story ?

FannyCornforth Thu 08-Oct-20 09:19:35

No Lucca, it's based on Christie.
Speaking of AR, isn't the actress who plays her (can't remember her name) horribly miscast?

FannyCornforth Thu 08-Oct-20 09:20:11

Ashley Jensen is it?

trisher Thu 08-Oct-20 10:19:18

Well I watched it all-while doing several other things! It was boring, unbelievable and the twist was so obvious I saw it coming in the first 5 minutes. Waste of 2 hours which is another point, it could have been done in an hour.

Calendargirl Sat 10-Oct-20 21:08:47

Just watching Agatha Christie, 100 Years of Poirot and Miss Marple.

Really interesting.

MellowYellow Sat 10-Oct-20 21:18:53

Yes me too Calendargirl, it's fascinating.

EllanVannin Sat 10-Oct-20 21:22:09

I'm watching this too.

NanKate Sat 10-Oct-20 21:53:50

Gave up after 5 mins. ?

NanKate Sat 10-Oct-20 21:54:54

Will definitely watch the 100 years programme.

Callistemon Sat 10-Oct-20 23:04:41

The 100 years programme is very good.
Now I want to re-read some of her books.

Calendargirl Sun 11-Oct-20 07:21:45

I re-read all the Miss Marple books in lockdown, except The Moving Finger which is on order from library.

Enjoying the Tuesday night Miss Marple on the Drama channel.

Good old Joan Hickson.

Not just the stories, all the lovely 1950’s nostalgia.

Grandmabatty Sun 11-Oct-20 11:56:30

I quite enjoyed the 100 years programme too, although it was fairly superficial. I suppose to really do her justice you would need a series! I can't say I like the look of the new Death on the Nile though.
