Anyone watch this last night. I was looking forward to watching and found it very interesting, especially when they did the deep sea dives and retrieved a wonderful artifact. Won't say what it was as dont want to spoil for anyone else. I was amazed that the Ashanti people had their own form of slavery calling them 'unfree people' not slaves.

I will watch it later.

Yes slavery existed in Africa, generations before the Europeans exploited it.
Some African tribes sold them to the highest bidder.
Often for guns and/or weapons or metal goods.

Although of course slavery existed in every country if you go back in history far enough!
