'An Inspector Calls'. By J B Priestly.

We watched it on TV recently . It was so good despite knowing what was to happen .

My son was in the Stephen Daldry production as a ten year old. (The Stephen Daley version has 3 kids in). He loved it - introduced him to his future career. It tours quite a lot because as a GCSE text it plays to full theatres.

I used to teach it. I like the Alastair Sim version and find him very creepy. However the version with David thewlis is really good too.

I bought the old film version a while ago. Alistair Sim is Inspector Goole.

I studied it at school, though I can't say I remember it in any detail.
I'd probably enjoy it more now!

Yes, it's a brilliant play.
It's an A level set text.

It is a fantastic play, the way it builds up inexorably from its start to its final denouement.

Read this as a teenager, a good moralistic and clever piece of writing by Priestley. It was a play in the West End for ages, and is still done regularly by Am Dram societies.

I saw the film not long ago and enjoyed it as well.
