It was very good, I really enjoyed. it.

I saw the film at the cinema and it didn’t really do it for me it was ok but I wouldn’t want to see it again

I also have Bennett’s book. It is only a very little read.

Bluebelle, I agree. I started watching this film on a flight from Thailand and gave up after 45 minutes. I usually love Maggie Smith but this film just seemed much ado about nothing!

I love it. Didn’t watch it last night because I have it on DVD. I’ll watch it again soon. It is a true story - the eccentric Miss Shepherd really did live for many years in a van in Alan Bennett’s drive.

I really enjoyed the drama and great acting from all concerned.

It's probably my favourite play to listen to on Radio 4 (aswell as Helena Bonham Carter and Bill Nighy in ^Private Lives^).
I can't see the film living up to the original play, so I've never watched it.
I really ought to, and then at least I can hold an informed opinion!

Enjoyed it last night I have seen it before but for me it's a film I can watch over again I also enjoyed the documentary that followed about his life

I bought the dvd when it came out as so many people said it was a brilliant film... cannot understand why, I found it boring. I watched it once and wouldn't bother again.

Loved the film, brilliantly acted.

I too found it boring. It had so much super hype maybe I expected too much.

I thought it was brilliant but my husband was unmoved.

Loved it Great to re-watch it! And I'm a great Alan Bennett fan of everything he writes too.

Have seen it twice and loved it. Alan Bennett is brilliant (IMO)
