Like , this country and love 2 doors down. Another Scottish comedy which I love is Still Game.

I loved This Country but I think they probably finished at the right time.

Haven't caught up with Motherland for ages; I know it's a spoof but I found the mother/daughter relationship annoying.
Perhaps I should give it another try.

I agree Callistemon, John Cleese was a trailblazer in going out on a high, leaving the nation clamouring for more "Fawlty Towers" that's how I feel about "This Country" I would like more but accept the writers know best and may feel that they will run out of steam if they go on for too long.

Absolutely cringed at the visiting parents - OMG was that ever us? (Probably!)
And I always like a soppy “Miracle of Christmas” twist

I've loved this country since it started and still do.
Not so keen on Taskmaster though.
Also a Number 9 fan. Which treats its audience with respect imv.

My daughter is binge watching This Country so I must give it a go. We usually like the same programmes. Alas for many years I have been glued to the tv on Monday nights watching Made in Chelsea. I love the music and it reminds me of my late teens when I wanted to live in a London bed sit and walk down Carnaby Street. I should hate the people in it but I don’t (well, I do a bit). I was even glued to the last couple of seasons which were rubbish. I’m quite fascinated by Jamie Laing. He and another MIC guy did really well on Pointless one year. I’m so ashamed of liking it. It’s the nearest I’ve ever got to watching a soap of any kind.

I’m still finding the old ‘Would I Lie To You’ series as funny as first time round.

Whilst I like Motherland, I feel it's nothing like as funny as it was purported to be imo, I do think it could be a lot more amusing I'm sure many of us have run into the School Gate "Muffia" in our time.

I've never got on with Taskmaster but I love Ghosts which I know a lot of people don't like.

Have to agree about Motherland. I wonder is it because they all had to somehow be "nice"?

Just watched the ‘Motherland’ Christmas Special.

Sorry to say I didn’t find it very special.

Think it’s gone off since they brought in that OTT character Meg, always drunk. Not in the old fun way.

i love mock the week, Taskmaster can be so funny and so stupid at the same time. Ive been watching "MEET THE RICHARDSONS" Its quite dry but very funny.

Love Motherland ??

Discovered This Country at the start of the lockdown, cheered us up no end, always put an episode on after the news, well we needed something to cheer us up, still do, even more so right now Of course we've long since worked our way through all of them They made us laugh our socks off, particularly the episode where the lovely Vicar started the book club. I believe Kerry's offering was a "Goosebumps" novel. I remember when one of my sons was in junior school and he, like many of his classmates would read these books continuously, which prompted their form teacher to put notes in their reading diaries to the effect "try and read something else other than a Goosebumps' book they aren't very well written"

I love The "Mucklows" aka as Daisy Mae and Charlie Cooper. I've heard some people say they don't get the humour at all, personally I love that sort of programme, where nothing really happens a bit like the "Royle Family" it's all in the dialogue, the characters are so well observed. "Kurtain" reminds me very much of some of the teenage boys that seemed to be in and out of our house a couple of decades ago, I know he's supposed to be older than that, but he resonated, particularly in the earnest way he delivered what amounted to a load of cock and bull bollocks and the ongoing convoluted disputes about nothing in particular They were like that!

We’ve watched all the series of Taskmaster several times. I liked the first two series the best, but this last one has been good. We’ve also got the Taskmaster book, board game and now the digital version that we are going to play over Christmas, remotely, with family!

Another series I enjoyed was Mount Pleasant, set in Manchester. I’ve just finished re-watching all 6 series because Bobby Ball was in it. It’s a mixture of comedy and drama and he does both so well.
