Hope you all escaped any effects of “Bella”. Today was another Public Holiday so very quiet; always is around here so a feet up day; no ironing, gardening, no nothing.

Jane You ask how does Fitbit know your sleep pattern!? Your’s is not to reason why, but probably the same way it knows that you are svelte under all those Winter woolies when it discards several kilos from its read-out I made a gaffe by asking if you can fool it ....no way!

Jaxjacky I suppose more soccer clubs have installed heating systems under the turf to enable fixtures to proceed regardless of snow and ice. I see Man.City had another win so it’s safe to switch on the Sports channel again.

Covid 19 continues to strike. The NSW Premier has cancelled the famous fireworks display for New Year’s Eve around the Sydney harbour bridge; because of the new outbreaks of clusters.
Pity, because they’d planned to reserve “ringside seats” specially for emergency services personnel.. That’s the one where a curtain of light is formed hanging off the harbour bridge. Very spectacular! Only downside is the Party comprising TV personalities and 5th rate performers.
Do you see in the NY? Jane will, probably not with kilted soldiers (the sausage type!), but with another box of choccies. After all, it’s the one time of year when the Scots celebrate something!
We’ll get to do it twice if we manage to survive the Melb. one which is usually tamer, lacking a harbour bridge.

If you don’t mind I’d like to drop out of our discussion on kilted soldiers. As much as I was beginning to enjoy developing an interest in your culture,my Dr. Google research was turning up some rather disturbing video of a gathering of senior Scots guards seated outdoors at some function or other. You’ve probably all seen this where one is seated with legs akimbo and appears to be wearing a mini kilt. But he was seated next to the Queen fortunately not facing; the cameraman did an excellent job. no camera shake!
I don’t think I could look a “kilted soldier” in the face, or wherever, let alone eat one,
Being a Royalist I’ll have to bow out!
The other point (on rugger) will have to wait!

Btw. Why “MawBe” ? Is it a misprint for “MayBe”?
