I watched this film on BBC iPlayer last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was different and a bit quirky but very good. Daniel Day Lewis plays the lead and was brilliant as he always is. It’s not a comedy but I did laugh out loud once or twice. Worth a watch in my opinion.

I agree,an excellent drama and well worth watching.

I mostly enjoyed it but I still can't understand why, towards the end, he knowingly and willingly ate the poison and smiled at her whilst he did so. Did I miss an integral part?

@ Chewbacca, no you didnt miss anything, I think Munchausen syndrome was brought into play here.

I saw it at the cinema when it came out, I may watch it again now it's on I Player it did evoke that 1950s fashion house era well, although I think I was also confused by the ending Chewbacca. Daniel Day Lewis is one of our finest actors, I think he said this film was to be his last, shame! Also good to see Lesley Manville playing his sister, another wonderful actress.

No I didn’t understand that part. Possibly something to do with him being vulnerable and her being his saviour. I did enjoy it though.

I liked this very much. Isn't Daniel Day Lewis gorgeous!
It's a really unusual, quirky film, well worth watching.
