Programme(s) you most enjoyed over the festive?

I’ll watch the Torvill and Dean thing tonight if it’s on BBC. For some reason I can’t get any other channels on catchup. I’ve loved Torvill and Dean ever since I saw them, pre Olympics at a book signing and Christopher Dean smiled at me!

Midwife and Black Narcissus were disappointing. TV was generally disappointing.

As well as Carols from Kings I thought Midnight Mass from Bristol was very well done considering the restrictions. The small choir was amazing.

Nothing at all impressed in my opinion over the holiday period but I ve enjoy tonight with The Masked Singer followed by The Voice

Old film, The Holly and the Ivy, absolutely loved it.
Black Narcissus and don’t know what to think, just watched episode 2.
Bridgerton, which is rather ridiculous but easy on the eye.

Nothing's really impressed that much this year. I've enjoyed the quizzes. I was a bit disappointed by Motherland and Dr Who, even Call the Midwife. Perhaps I'm getting too picky in my old age. I've missed the usual Agatha Christies and ghost stories. I did enjoy Pandemonium, and the repeat of Charlie Brooker's Antiviral Wipe, which I missed the first time round.

I was disappointed with the Christmas Motherland. It seems to be trying too hard to be funny these days and I don’t like that new character. Too ott. Ghosts, on the other hand (which I’ve only just watched) was sublime. The best comedy has to have a touch of melancholy and it made me laugh and cry. Perfect.

There used to be an annual game on Twitter called ‘Count the women in the Vienna Phil’, but now there are about a dozen it’s not a joke anymore. I enjoyed the concert, particularly because I’ve been to concerts in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein, so I can reminisce.

I’d love to have seen the Roald and Beatrix programme, but I don’t have Sky and wasn’t prepared to get it for one programme.

I’m bemused by the thought of sewing as a spectator sport.

Loved the Christmas repair shop episode. Also I enjoyed the all creatures great and small episode. I did love the Bob Mortimer Paul whitehouse Christmas episode of gone fishing. Love them.

The New Year’s Day Concert with the Vienna Philharmonic (now that they admit women musicians).

I enjoyed Tea With Mussolini, Black Narcissus, Ghosts, The Sewing Bee (the kilt!) Christmas University Challenge and The Torville and Dean programme yesterday.

The only tv programme we watched over Christmas was Celebrity Sewing Bee, so that has to be the best,

I enjoyed All Creatures Great and Small just before Christmas. Carols from Kings on Christmas Eve. Other than that subscribed to see The Undoing (Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant) on Prime, very much enjoyed that. Must catch up with the Christmas episode of Motherland, I've quite liked most of them.

My daughter and I both really enjoyed Love and Friendship, the film on BBC 2, which was based on Lady Susan, a Jane Austen short story. Passed us both by when it was released.

The Repair Shop at Christmas was my favourite.

I must have seen Tea with Mussolini at least four times but couldn't resist another watch.

Perfect film for a lazy afternoon.

I had never seen Tea With Mussolini until yesterday,thoroughly enjoyed. I thought the New Years Day concert from Vienna was even more beautiful this year.

For a good laugh I loved Motherland.

GagaJo I’ll have to have a look at that, had heard mention of it with mixed views, but I’ll judge for myself.

Weirdly, Emily in Paris. I watched the series with a 12 year old who wanted to watch it, and I shocked myself by not hating it.

We rarely sit down together to watch anything, but our daughter insisted we should try watching ‘This is us’ on Prime and it’s the best series I’ve seen in a very long time. I think we started to watch one episode each night in mid December and coincidentally watched the Christmas episode on Christmas Day.
