I also noticed the different accents. Jason seemed to have a different accent from Jodie which I thought odd. I could accept that children might have a different accent from parents if the parents were brought up somewhere different.

I agree it was far-fetched but I enjoyed it.

Book, films and TV series often have plots that wouldn't hold water in real life.

Did anyone find the music annoying it was so loud compared to the speech. Wish I hadn’t bothered ? nobody looked related to each other at all. Tv really is rubbish at the moment.

It was good to see Rupert Penry Jones back on screen I last saw him in Whitechapel. His mother is the actress Angela Thorne who played Marjory the friend of Audrey Forbes-Hamilton in To the Manor born.

Thought she got the job a bit easy, apart from that thought it was very good!! I, also, had difficulty recognising Jill Halfpenny. Very tense and exciting.

I had recorded this and watched it in two sittings. Wonder why I did waste that time now. So much padding, none of which was explained in any way. What was the purpose of the gang, etc? How come anyone could just walk into a school and wander around? How could the DBS get forged? - results are sent directly to organisation requesting them, not to individual. Why did we see one moment in which the brother was rowing Daniel out to the middle of the lake obviously threatening him, and a short while later he was locked in a shed? How come the body of Tom was never found even though we saw scenes of divers searching the lake?? What happens to the gardening business from which Jodi stole all the money to give to the forgery gang?? And that car, would any gang take it just with the key and no paperwork?

Biggest questions is How come such a load of total rubbish was actually paid for to be screened?????

Reading through this, I have decided not to waste any more time on Finding Alice, which is even drafter than this drama.

suziewoozie I know just what you mean. I don't know why, when it is becoming increasingly obvious that a drama is going to be a dead duck, I don't just give up. I do sometimes, but not often enough!

Yet another drama that proves to me yet again the triumph of hope over experience. I knew it was going to be rubbish but yet again, I dared to hope. Why do I do it? The plot wasn’t so much full of holes as complete rubbish. It nearly became so bad it was funny but sadly, it didn’t even reach that threshold.

The mum was the snob. The kids had seen through her along time ago and used the accents that came naturally to them.

It's one theory.

I watched it and yes there were a few weak storylines but I was most confused at the Ex son in law being umosgst the family with his new wife and child.
I can appreciate it when there is a family gathering regarding shared children but this wasn't so.

Yes I did. And I thought it was one reason Jodie was so at odds with her own family. It was as if they were taking his side over their own daughter/sister.

Yes the basic premise was good but it did get silly at the end. The gangster thing was unbelievable and the brother swimming after the boat was almost farcical.
Hey ho let's hope the next drama will be better. I think Unforgotten is coming back soon.

We watched each episode hoping it would improve and that there might be a clever twist at the end, but the final episode was the silliest of them all.

The basic idea was ok, but it could have been so much better if more attention had been paid to the many silly, unbelievable details.

The casting was poor too.
There’s no way that slightly Chinese looking boy would have been any of the parents’ biological child.

It was filmed in Dublin. Second rubbish drama I've wasted my eyes and ears on!

Thought it was a very poor plot. Unrealistic, especially the part in the school.

No, he was not the son. The little boy really did drown while Jodie’s brother Jason was meant to be keeping an eye on him, so he covered it all up.

It was a damp squib ending, which is often the case, after a storyline full of holes and far fetched-ness.

Oh, and the brother also drowned at the end!

I'm still wondering why Delia Smith was playing the matriarch?

Surely the boy's father would have had baby and toddler photos which would have proved that he had not abducted him when he was four.?

The absurd coincidences and lack of common sense follow ups was just ridiculous.

I have never up until now, had any ambition to be a tv playwright but I am seriously beginning to think of it as a very late career move. I am sure that most of us Gransnetter could come up with a better plot.
