I've just been watching this - fascinating. Just about my favourite show ever.
We went to see it in London where I was living in the late 50s.

I'll make a note and try to watch on catch up.
Thanks, Fennel

I enjoyed it too, on stage and the film.
I watched a programme about Bernstein years ago which was excellent.

My boy friend took me to see this in the latefifties at Her Majesties Theatre. It was so very different to any other musical I had every seen. At the end of the 'Gee Officer...' number, the audience were on our feet calling for an encore - and this continued until the Producer actually came on stage to tell us that no encores could be done as the boys and girls did not have any spare energy to repeat numbers.

I’ll take a look at that, thanks Fennell, it’s one of my favourite shows.
