What is it about mattresses (and occasionally pillows)?

Someone on another thread has mentioned that she just spent 2 hours queueing at the rubbish tip - very mysterious!

At 4.00pm? OK, that is anathema to us, but probably not to others - and we do not have a tv in the bedroom anyway.

Perhaps there is a gross assumption if you’re watching that channel, you’re propped up in bed ?

People working from home sometimes have to work in their bedroom if there is nowhere else, I guess they want to be as comfortable as possible. I don't know why that would apply to a nostalgia channel though.

I often see old mattresses dumped in the back lanes around here. The bin men can't take them and many people don't have a car.
I wonder if those at the tip have been watching that programme on fly-tipping?

Since DH got back from hospital he has beem watching a lot of late afternoon and early evening tv and also some of the nostalgia channels like Really and Yesterday and large proportion of the adverts seem to be for mattresses, mattress toppers, it seems endless.

In the past all the adverts were funeral plans and disability aids - and those are still there, but they are being driven into insignificance by the endless mattress adverts (and occasionally pillows.

They seem to be working because we went to the tip last week and were surrounded by lots of people (of all ages) dumping mattresses. Mind you, I went to the tip to day to find a huge pile of discarded loos of various kinds and a few wash basins, all seemed to be unmatching, but I think that is another story.
