I was about to say exactly what dragonfly said. It's very tranquil and the surrounding area is beautiful.

We live near those monks and often go and listen to their chanting. There is a very nice tearoom there too.

Another one who loves Alnmouth. Stayed at the HF hotel there

I didn’t know the monks went out and about. I love Alnmouth, especially the little art gallery. The arts festival (pre covid) is one of the highlights of our year.

We have a Friary of St Francis in Alnmouth near me. I haven't seen any of the monks out during Covid, but I believe numbers there are now very low.

I found it very moving and inspirational. The burial scenes were particularly stark but such sanity in a crazy world I thought.

Just watched this on bbc iPlayer. Such an insight to their world, sad at times too.
